Hi Debbie,
I think I nearly shook my head off in agreement with everything your poem encompasses.
Life is now, and we are the masters of our own destiny's... our choice to how we proceed... half empty... or half full?
May you at least possess something that ignites your passion along with your love, and talent of writing.
Outstanding poem, my dear friend!
Kindest thoughts,
James xx

Hi James, my friend. I spent a lot of my life waiting for something to make me happy. Now, I realize it doesn't work that way. I must be happy and enjoy life.
Sorry I am I am so far behind in replying. The way our bus system works (or maybe I should say doesn't work), it take me 5 hours to go to a 10 minute appointment. I took my laptop, but they didn't have wi-fi. Take care, my friend~Debbie xx

Yes , there certainly are no second chances except for the ones we create.
We strive even to get 2 or 3 of the choices you have listed. 4 means you are having a good life. The others? A rare bonus.
Great Image, Debbie and a wonderful layout with the repetition of your title.
Good points with the jests of life written in one complete verse.
Best wishes,
Have a great day,
RG

Your poem is riddled with wisdom. Live your life today, enjoy the journey. So many times we see this things happen, just as you say. People wait so long for retirement, only to find that poor health keeps them from doing what they planned. Or on occasion, they have nothing planned as they have no outside interest. Well written, Carolyn

Agree completely with the last stanza, we live one day at a time and if we lose that day and it's fulfillment it is gone forever. Great poem. God loves you and I do too,

Hello Debbie,
It's a nice piece of Self Improvement Poetry beautifully depicting the importance of 'Present/Today'.
Enjoying and Passing through 'waiting and wishing' in all the tercets, I found myself in the end pondering over the following worth quoting lines:
"Why wait?
Live your life today
Enjoy your journey
No second chances..."
Simple and meaningful wording/ smooth flow having its own rhythm/ carries a good message/ Worth enjoying!

Waiting and wishing
Missing out on life
A waste
Very true! You are so right that life is the journey, not the goal. I like how your third lines summed up the message in each part.

Debbie, this is a neat piece of free verse, with good concepts and a clear theme. The mood is very plaintive, and one must hope for some good news, soon, for the writer. Pick out one of your needs and lace up your work boots and go get it. Even the effort can be uplifting.

Debbie, you are making some very strong and true statements here. I think your are thinking and writing with a much healthier attitude and it will have surprising payoff for you.
Opportunities don't usually hang around for very long and then they are gone. Not all opportunities are good one but if they are not evaluated; who knows? I enjoyed the read so thanks for sharing. Bob

Sorry about the 'generic response'. As I had over 300 reviews, I knew I wasn't ever going to get through them. I value your kindness and friendship.

I have not read your work for a while and am glad I caught this reflective poem. Thank you for pointing out the risks of "waiting" and reminding us that there are "No second chances...". The tercets form and presentation underscored the theme well. Hope your Sunday begins a new week of satisfying adventures- Joan
