Absolutely! They definitely keep you young and feeling alive. I really enjoyed this read, and although my granddaughter is only six, she chatters non-stop and we also have a close relationship. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Your Senryu has the correct line and syllable count. I found your poem very enjoyable. I think both you and your granddaughter are luckly to have each other. She offers youth, you offer wisdom, a perfect match. And to add you both offer LOVE. best of luck in the contest.

How many grandparents can brag about having this kind of relationship with their grandchild? Indeed, being able to converse with the younger generation would make anyone younger.
It's fun to see how Granny or Grampa has adopted the granddaughter's lingo.

Ha, so true! I am so glad .....to be run "to" and not away "from". And the lingo has never been a problem, for I taught in High School! Thanks so much.

This is a nice place to be in for a grandparent. Having an ear for a kid is a great way keep young. It can, at times, be a source of Methuselah-itis, and make you feel as out of touch as a churn. Nice poem.
