In this captivating writing with exotic notes you managed to create and personalize a charismatic camel that would be the delight of children. It is a nice bed time story. The story ends in a dreamy and nostalgic note.

Told through the eyes of a child, this one delighted me. Also it brought back fond memories of twenty years ago when I visited Israel. I swear I saw that same camel. They actually do smile. I was blessed with a toothy grin just when I did not have a camera in hand. Also I remembered the dates I smuggled home although we were really not supposed to bring food items through Customs. I thought I was busted in New York when the Customs dog stuck his head in my bag for a sniff. I guess he knew dates were healthy.

Hi Carolyn
I am back again for a while until i get good news about my sister in law. She is getting a little better, very slowly.
This story of yours is very fascinating. I could feel the sincerity and deep thoughts for details. Unless you have gone to the desert and met some of these people you would not have been able to be so detailed.
Very clear, very imaginative.
Very well done

Benny

Hi there, I am so blessed to hear your sister in law is better. I know that is comforting to you, your dear wife and family.
Actually Bennie, all the factual information about camels, and desert life, names, etc. is from research. The rest of the story is purely from my heart. :-) I think I will always be a kid. I'm glad you enjoyed the story. Have a great week my friend, Carolyn

It's wonderful to introduce children to a different culture and educate them about weather problems in other areas of the world. I loved to hear how camels protected themselves during a sandstorm. An extra eyelid-- that would come in handy. A gripping story with the hero almost suffocated by the weight of the carpet and sand. Clara to the rescue. Guess she's the real hero.

What a wonderful children's story this is, Carolyn!

Children will learn so much from this, and not even take note of the fact that they are being taught something, as this is written in a matter-of-fact way, in Abeed's words.

Children learn more about the camel, and learn that children in other parts of the world don't have a computer or a telephone, as evidenced by Abeed saying that there was no way of letting his cousin know that he was coming.

I loved that the gift of a compass was included in your write. What a 'practical' gift that came in handy after the sand storm.

This was very well written, and it conveys a simpler yet wonderful life elsewhere in the world.

Great job, Carolyn!

Connie

Hi, Carolyn.
It was a very interesting chapter. Your descriptions are vivid and make the desert scenes lively.
You framed the characters well and the story was entertaining as well.
Children enjoy so much the company of animals. I don't know much about the camels, so I found it enjoyable as well.

Have a great day!

I think we lose track of nature though devise. Cars and we don't touch horses much anymore except as a hobby generally, and then not frequently. I think we are the less for it.

Your story, made me see camels. I have never felt one though. That is sad.

Nice piece

Hi, Carolyn.
What a wonderful children's story! Your characters are excellent, inviting readers into a different world than that of North America. Your visuals are great. I could see Abbeed crouched in sands as the winds gusted during the storm. You shared such a beautiful tender moment between Abbeed and his father, a gift handed down from father to son. This is a great story for kids! Well done.
Bye
Rosalyne :)
