Interesting enough, I know of people like this. I tried for years to change myself to please them and it made me unhappy. I finally became myself when they walked away and although it hurt me because it was my (adoptive) family but It was the best thing that could happen to me in a long time for my mental psyche :) Wonderful intro.

Oh my Lord, so much wisdom packed in these lines. So much truth too - and truth is gotten in pain and agony sometimes.
Falling is part of life and trust is the basis of all real friendship, we enter this world alone with no illusion of what is to come.
These were so phenomenal! Especially the "falling is part of life" part.
Loved your poem - the message is so prevalent.

This piece seeks to free the mind of worries of disappointments and hurts. It sees these as part of life, for expression of compassion has since turned into a dying art. In this sense it ponders true love and tolerance.

I don't think I've ever seen a post pumped up as high as this one. So, of course I read it. You make a very good point, but the sad fact is, such people are very hard to find in this "me" society pervaded by selfish thought. Better not to trust anyone till you've known them for at least ten years. :)

deepwater: this seems more prose than poetry, although most people think they overlap quite a bit. Still, your cacophony of thoughts and words have presented some words to live by. Nice writing. livelylinda

your well chosen words allow the reader to see and feel
in the many ups and downs in our life's journey we may only have a few who we can truly trust as friends who will stand beside you no matter what happens in your life
short and to the point
flows well
cheers..Smoothiecool

fair weather friends. joy and sadness and the hope to regain. the passage of happiness is good and the knowledge of what kind of friends we have made in our time on this planet. I see we are never alone.

Again, like your other writings I enjoy the depth of emotion; sometimes a little too shaded.
The graphics tell the story of what you are writing. A picture ay be worth a thousand words. However, art and words together tell the story twice which is frequently necessary.
In short, I like this.

Your poem expresses such wise and insightful thoughts.
In particular, I love the line "the in-between is the dying art of compassion with flexibility and accountability to others that cross your path between the parts of life we know as birth and death."
Simple, yet profound.
Thank you for sharing.

Wow, heavy!! But so true through the entire thing. So sad when you think you can trust someone that is close to you, and they end up failing you in the end. Great image to compliment this writing. Thanks for sharing.
