I'm really drawn to this poem but not sure why...maybe it's the desperation..or maybe I like the idea a rebirth..I just don't know, but the words are playing on my mind.

This is well deserving and i can see why it was selected as poem of the month. My grandmothers grandfather according to Ozark family lore was an Choctaw Indian medicine-man. Whether true or not. I have always been fascinated with the Great Indian culture. All the best

Thank you very much for digging this up out of the FanStory archives and offering your feedback and comments on the poem, writeapoem (sorry, I do not know what else to call you as I don't know your real name).
I too have a great deal of American Indian blood coursing through my veins. My great grandmother on my mom's side of our family was a full blooded Comanche squaw. Her daughter, my Grandma Goff, often recanted tales of Native American Indian lore to me as a young lad, and many of those stories have stayed with me over time.
I appreciate you exceptional six-star rating as well. I know what a staunch and discerning reviewer you've been since you arrived here at FS this past June. You don't hand out sixes lightly, which makes this review all the more rewarding.

Took a peek at this older poem of yours--and found the raven again! I love this! Such imagery! And I love the tie-in with Native American culture. And I enjoy your exploration of ravens and crows. I'm a bird-lover myself, and I recently watched a fascinating documentary about crows. They are unimaginably smart. They even use their beaks to fashion tools!!!

In my thought i will say this goes beyond killing crows rather it is more about life. Many a time we kill time which is our greatest enemy and end up wishing we could fly. this story also shows that dreams are deceptive when we fail to wake up from sleep towards achieving them. there is a price to pay for every thing and that's what she took "courage", the word mistaken by many and neglected by most people. Nice one though

how this second line here is "off-beat"! I like poems and songs that do that, because it is unique and usually done by more talented writers.

A beautiful ,startling insight into the truth of the immortal soul that is our very essence in this reality.The human body being a vital vehicle for our physical functions,however housing the soul which is part of the spirit of all creation.

I liked that even though this poem is relatively short, it still has a variety of tones. I also liked how you used clichés to your advantage by giving them little twists in their meanings. It made reading this all the more interesting. I can't think of anything that would improve this poem, so it must be awesome.

Well, when one can't find any suggestions or room for improvement, I always take that as a good thing, penguina. Funny you would say it was short. Most told me, if anything, that it was far too long.
