This is a very romantic love poem and I thought it should have won. According to howmanysyllables.com "really" has 3 syllables, making your last line 6 syllables. That may have cost you the win, it's still a great entry. Have a nice day my friend. Bill

Hi Bill :) Thank you so much for your great comments. I never thought to check my syllables with a website! I will next time - I always thought 'really' had 2 syllables! We live and learn! Have a great day yourself - school holidays here so I have my 3 little monkeys to contend with lol! Luckily its a great day and we have a big back garden :)
Bye for now, Debra :)

I love the picture. It reminds me of my husband and I. Old and wrinkled but in love for thirty years. Even after death, he is still the handsome red head with the crooked smile. Love is blind .Great work. Good luck with the contest.

A delightful write. It would make an excellent anniversary card.
I read your author notes and I want to congratulate you on keeping love alive - requires effort, forgiveness and the ability to laugh together.
Best of luck in the contest. This is one of the poems that took note of the directives to write a love story.

This five - seven - five reminds me of the type of relationships that we used to take for granted in our society. These long-term marriages were not the stuff of Hollywood, but of the desire to preserve a family's integrity and strength. Nice.

A good choice for a happily ever after love story. You managed to express the truth of constant love within the constraints of the 5-7-5 format. Good luck in the contest.

Hi Crystal, thank you for your feedback. I'm glad you enjoyed the poem so much - you say you 'liked and loved' it! Please can you tell me what improvements you feel are necessary? You graded it 4 stars... this implies that it needs improvement.
Thank you in anticipation of your reply. :)

The picture illustrate the love and joy that the couple has for one another. It is very clear that they are happy to be together. I can infer many days of laughter, support, teamwork, and commitment between them. They never gave up on their relationship, and as a result They have a history of many, many, years to celebrate and remember. What a blessing. Great poem. thanks

I love this simple expression of love, which draws a much larger picture of a long-lasting love. What makes your message so interesting is that many people really DO doubt "Happily Ever After", so your example is a shining example for the naysayers. Great job & good luck in the contest.
