~ Hey! The Guernsey is the wrong color!! That's a Holstein, which would have made my grandpa cringe - he had Guernseys!
~ Love this!Brings back many memories of the farm.
Cheers

Hah, mine did too, and this silly little limerick is actually based on facts, Jax. Pappa's Guernsey was actually brown, almost a deep amber color, but I saw that picture and thought, Yep...that's the one I want!", after I'd written the poem. Maybe that's why it lost? LOL...

At one time, when I still lived on the farm, I had a ceramic cookie jar that was a Guernsey cow! I think your poem should have won - I loved it! Cheers

Ca-splot. Paw, she did it again! Now go strain the milk. Good one Dean. I remember the days as a boy doing the chore. Moo. Shalom to you.

Yeah, thanks Ben, and the saddest part is, this is a true story! My Pappaw always had me milk poor old Lass, because he knew all too well of her bovine flatulence problem. She gave the sweetest milk, though...

This is a cute limerick and one I can relate to. The cow I remember far too well was a jersey named Daisy but the "end result was the same. :)

Barnyard humor--I relish it! I wonder which came first--the artwork or your limerick!! Your rhymes are neat and your punchline is choice. This entry has to be among the contenders--good luck- Joan

Well it tied for second place, Joan, but thanks for the good luck wishes just the same, my friend. I'm really happy to know that you enjoyed it at least.

I'm pleased when I get one vote--second place is grand! -Joan

Yeah, me too. But winning one once in a while is always nice too, hee-hee!

LOL! Okay, alrighty then (yep, I borrowed it from that Hamilton, Ontario comic - yep, I'm feeling rather patriotic today...LOL - is that what you call it when it's provincial?)
This is a hootin', tootin' (pun intended) dollop of pure fun limerick! (What a picture, too! LOL)

Hah, yeah, and it is a true story as well, Dawn. No one on my pappa's farm would milk poor old Lassie but me. But, whew, what a stinker she was!
Thanks for the entertainingly wonderful review, my friend!

Thanks, reach, and while it came in second, I still had a blast writing it. I hope your Easter was relaxing and happy as well, my dear friend.
God bless...

An adventure or experience or however perceived, once will be enough to change or alter your ambition in life.
Either that or have a gas mask handy.

Hah, yeah, at the time I had no option, b1merm96. While I helped out on my grandpa's farm, I was the only one who would relieve poor old gassy Lassie of her milky burden. So, a mask was extremely necessary...believe me!

This piece meets the criteria of the Limerick poem as the syllable count is spot on. Good end rhyming. Good perfect rhyming with pass/lass. Clear message that is short, simple and filled with humor.

I used to write limericks to my girlfriend in high school. One actually made her laugh so loud, she got detention. I wonder where that girl is now? I think limericks are an art form and their fun. Good luck.

You are most welcome. Keep them coming.

I'll try, my friend. I really don't like getting my behind handed to me in these contests like I did this one. So, I'll probably stick to what I know, lol.
Comment from Smoothiecool
