A good entry in this Katie 21 contest! It needs to be a clever entry for this short form poetic type, and you might have done it! A nice relevant artwork To compliment the narrative! Well done, blessings, Roy.

What a beautiful sentiment. I read this poem and interpret and a release from a hard life and easing of pain or physical strife (illness) through death. There is relief to know that the one suffering will find release, and the person watching finds joy in the memories of their loved one. Please don't be offended if I am a miles off the mark.

Your poem is beautifully presented and in excellent Katy 21 form
I like the alliteration and assonance in relent/reprieve
and resurrect/refreshing
Effective repetition of soon in your closing
A beautifully reassuring poem, something soothing to read in times of trouble :-) Brooke

Hi Debra:0
This ia a beautiful tribute to your granddad as you resurrect golden memories now refreshed only by tears. Yes as we reach the end of our mortal lives, time griws short until we take on a heavenly glow.

Love and Irish Hugs to share with your granddad and for good luck in the contest.

Great Grandad Roger

Dearest Great Grandad Roger, thank you so very much for your lovely words and good luck wishes. Thank you also for totally understanding my Katie21 poem... My Grandad is in the latter stages of dementia, he is hanging onto life by a thread which I am certain he would wish to sever himself if only he knew. Such a tragedy for a once vital man to be consigned to this non-existence. He has taken a turn for the worse over the past few days and though I know he has already left us in mind, it is still hard to know that the end is looming. I am so thankful for the wonderful times we shared and the masses of memories he gave me. Kindest regards, Debra :) x

It is so difficult to see a love one suffer & also be close to his final days. Thanks for letting us know in this poem, Debra, & with tears to cope & with the Faith that your Dear Grandad will shine in the hereafter & your thoughts of him will resurrect golden memories.
