Why do I have the feeling that Darren is going to be suspected of being in league with the devil? I guess Raff saw him disappear into thin air. Just wait until he blows their mind with peanut butter. Or ice cream. Looking forward to Darren' s perspective.

Or peanut butter ice cream :-). There's certainly mischief going on but perhaps not devilry. Of course, medieval perspectives may differ!

Hi Feedle I'm sorry I missed some of your chapters. I'm back from vacations and will follow your story.
This chapter is well written, I'm curious who Raff is and what he's is going to do next and what he saw.

I can't imagine what the boy saw. Guess we'll have to wait for the next chapter to find out if Darren is a fake, but wherever would he get all of those luscious ingredients, if he wasn't what he said. Great read, as always.

Hehe, thank you :-). The front Darren shows Lizzy is more how he wants to be than how he is ...

Cruel wordsmith. How can you leave this story hanging. I need to know what Raff saw. He can't be an alien. Great intrigue here and I loved it. You take a plain cooking job and romance it up. Very clever. Hurry with the next. :) luv jada

Thanks so much, my dear :-). I hadn't thought of making him an alien - now that really would be a left-field twist!

Better yet, cheese and tomato grilled. Lizzy encounters more problems as Winston's cook than a jester in the Kings court. Good food and sex are natural partners, food being the aphrodisiac. And Darrern knows best how to use it. I've missed episodes so I don't rightly know Raff, or is intentions, but conflict is evident. Kenny

I am sure he thinks Darren is a witch or whatever you guys call a male witch...worlock? This is such fun. I love the whole concept of a modern day TV Chef traveling back in time to save a dear cook for an awful man. I cannot wait until the next post. I am enjoying this immensely.

UH-OH! Now Darren's pegged as a sorcerer, and he may not be savvy enough to realize that's not a compliment. Another fast paced segment with a great final hook. :) nancy

A great continuing chapter, Mike. I'm anxious to see what Raff saw with the departure of the TV chef. And now I'm ready for a tomato and cheese sandwich!

Excellent! Entertaining, believable, good strong characters, fully developed.
One thing I detected:
an audible creek, [according to my sources, "a grating or squeaking sound is "creak" >> now you British, on the other hand...]
superb, as I'm growing used to!

This is a great story.
I wasn't hungry, until I read this.
The dialog and characters are done very well, as is the overall pace.
