I loved this! My son still does the exact same thing...and he's 7! He's getting a little better at hiding quietly, but if I talk enough while searching for him he usually still gives himself away with giggles. You've captured this sweet childhood experience so perfectly with your words. This is really well done! A true pleasure to read! :)

Having read all the entries for this competition so far. I think this is certainly in the top three. It is in my top three. A close call indeed.
It has a charming childish feel to it. It fits the subject and flows so wonderfully. You can visualize the scene without effort.
Best of luck in the competition.

Ah thanks,Imogen :) I went to bed last night with only 1 vote and awoke to 3 more... more than 2 votes in a contest is satisfying! Thanks for your great feedback (I'm intrigued as to which other 2 are in your top 3 LOL!) Kindest regards...:)

Aww, this is so sweet. Boy, I better have another sip of coffee because at first I read 'excitement' as 'excrement,' lol. You've written a charming little poem. Hugs, Lou

This is such a delicious concept! The childish little girl's giggles
of anticipation and excitement giving away her hiding spot.
It is the epitome of cuteness!
It wins my vote :-)

This septolet captures the fun and joy of Hide & Seek in only 14 words. We also get a wonderful glimpse of the father playing along with his giggly daughter. The rhyme at the end of each stanza also adds to the joyful tone of the poem.

This Septolet describes a fun scene of playing a game with a child. The delightful rhyme and ending line paint a picture of those moments very clearly.

This is really a cute poem. Anyone who has ever played hide and seek with a child can identify with it. The picture enhances it perfectly.

I love this! Although I am unfamiliar with the septolet, it appears you've done it just right. Your use of alliteration - close/count; giggles/give, is well done. I also like that you have rhymed your poem.
The picture is a perfect complement. Good luck in the contest. Alana
