Hi Debra
I see she's at those peas again. LOL I'll begin to think you have a fetish about them. Though I'm a pea lover and can well understand your chagrin.:)) Did you try the pea smiley face on the potato mash face?? I do remember not liking beans , I did however love to eat them raw..... so that is how I had them. Podding peas is a fun task and a nibble on those fresh raw peas a bonus ... I guess the art was lost in my mother's generation. I'm not even sure I see them in the fruit market anymore ... surely not. Anyway worth a try?? :))
I love the alliteration, "Podded perfection", "Exquisite edibles". Super word use and assonance in "orbs/abhorred". A very clever 575 acrostic....... gave me a huge smile. Always with your own personal flare and super style. Well done. Hugs - Lovi xoxo

Hi Lovi :) I keep trying little tricks to get the kids to eat their 5 a day with varying success - Ben actually ate spaghetti bolognese yesterday without picking out every single piece of onion or tomato - that's a huge result LOL!
Thank you for your great feedback as always :) Love Debra x

I like this haiku with a twist. The last part, to me is the twist.
You have the right amount of syllables.
Good luck in the contest.

Oh yes, kids and vegetables do not go well together;
A well-penned children's poem;
I like the alliterative introduction:
"Podded perfection";
Some adults don't prefer the taste of vegetables also!
A nice photograph of you and your daughter--she is so cute!

Hi Capricorn :) Thank you for your great feedback... I love peas but I can't stand broad beans.
Thank you for your lovely comment about my profile picture - my daughter, Rebecca will be 4 at Christmas - she's a little live-wire!
Kindest regards as always, Debra :)

Well written and the subtle humor is nicely done. Too bad you couldn't use the word "broccoli" I like the attractive way this is presented and the alliteration. Great job!

Hi lorraine :) Thank you for your fun feedback... you'd think I was trying to poison them giving them fruit and veg! Yet they'll eat snot. Happily. Gross weird kids!

Very creative haiku, & really like all those descriptive words that you used for this veggie & too, the word, abhorred. Those tiny baby sweet peas might be what they prefer eventually, as those big ones, I don't particular like myself,either, unless fresh out of garden, like your poem suggest, though haven't grown any of them myself, though could...You have really hit on something that a lot of kids are hesitant about eating, maybe some butter sauce might make the difference, though eating too much butter is not good for one either..So, maybe stock up on children's chewable kids vitamins, & think you probably already have....Hopefully, carrots sticks, or all sorts of crunchy veggies with tasty dips, they will tolerate...Best wishes..

Hi Caressa :) Thank you for your great feedback... believe me I've tried all sorts to get the kids to eat their 5 a day fruit & veg with varying degrees of success. My daughters are a lot more willing to try different things than my son is... he'll eat carrots, broccoli and bananas without grumbling - anything else is a battle! I will keep trying!
Kindest regards as always, Debra :)

Absolutely gorgeous. This one definitely got my vote in the contest and I see that at this stage you are lying second equal - but with still a good number of votes to come!
