Yes 9/11 was horrific, and I think this poem really highlights the impact of that time. I think it is an exceptional piece. I did wonder what those angels were waiting to "receive" and wished I knew a little more about that. It crossed my mind that a concentrated effort was being made to find a word that rhymed with the word "leave" in the first stanza. I never felt that anywhere else in the poem, and don't think it is of such significance that it should remove a star--just one of those fleeting thoughts that gave me pause. My mind works in overdrive sometimes. Again, I think this is an exceptional work that should further imprint on readers the sadness and horror of that event.

I had forgotten about this poem. I wrote it so long ago. Thanks for reading. The Angels were waiting to receive souls leaving their bodies, helping them to heaven. Blessings, Kay xx

Now, with that explanation it makes a lot of sense. Thanks for taking the time
to help me out.

This is the best poem about Sept.11 that I have read. I like the image of the angels weeping over the tragedy and the image of the four horseman. I was in England boarding a plane home when the towers were hit. I will never forget that day. Your excllent poetic form pays tribute to those who died that day.

The sadness is felt for each senseless act of terror among cultures with a tremendous history of achievement. ISIS wants us all to reject our concept of faith for a hideous disregard of human values so displayed in what should be a intelligent discourse of equals. I guess some make the transition - some don't.
I may not be writing for a while (Marilyn and I are doing fine - no health problems) for I need a long break. In mid October we fly to China (Beijing, Xi'ng. Lhasa (Tibet), a cruise on the Yangtze River to Shanghai. I will have lots to say on my return. I may even buy a copy of Chairman Mao's little red book of poetry (hopefully in English); it is actually a must.

Please to take honourable laptop to Forbidden City! Thank you for reading my poem Alan. We stand on the precipice of war - 600 of our men have been sent to back America. I hope you both enjoy your Chinese getaway (just jealous.) Love to both, Kay. XX

It was indeed a terrible day. Needless to say that the evil ones that committed the deeds died and were carried to a most terrible place. No virgins there, sorry!
That religious fanatics have no remorse or conscience seems to be the case. Writers words are so true.
Be on guard for we are at war - smallest move
Will open the stable door
Religious fanatics seek to prove
Always they ride the tide of war.

The world was changed forever on 9/11. If it had any shred of innocence left, it was lost, never to be found again, on that fateful day.
How starkly and well you've brought this story to remembrance, my dear Kanga.
RIP, beautiful, innocent souls.
Hugs and kisses to you, my fellow prosthesis pal .. :) :) :)!!!
Have a blessed weekend.

I feel so sad for everyone who has to live through their sadness and grief every single year with only their own death bringing relief. I don't know how they do it, I don't think I could. Your poem is strong, powerful and so sad, Kay. Excellent piece of writing, and such a sad but necessary one for you to write and us to read. xsx Sandra

Hello Seagull, Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn, at the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them. This is said on ANZAC Day to remember the troops - I like to include the innocents that died in the Twin Towers. Love, K.

Angels wept at the carnage... powerful phrase. I must believe everyone remembers where they were and what they were doing the moments the planes hit - it was surreal. And the aftershocks with the plane in Pennsylvania and the Pentagon being hit will remain in painful memory forever. Thank you fore remembering and sharing. AT=/

A/T, Thanks so much for reading; we need to be on guard as the world is at war - in every country there is death and destruction. Blessings, K.

Fanatics can be found anywhere with different skin color and cultural back ground. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words. Good job.

Thank you my friend - I had to write it, for all nations that lost loved ones that day. That day was only the beginning of what is to come. Blessings, K.

Rebekka, Thanks for reading; too complacent we have become - Twin Towers was a wake-up, more to come. Blessings, K.

Well rhymed tribute to this sad anniversary, Kay. What I appreciate most about this work is how you've taped into the collective memory that the world holds from this event. Angels weeping over the carnage and destruction, sent to receive the souls, but not to intervene. It's a powerful image you've painted.

Christina, I think we were all touched, shocked, saddened; only the beginning of things to come. The world is on standby for these black horsemen - spawn of Satan. Blessings, K.
