Some are into a loving game, never want to make it a real relationship. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a very good read.

Good Time man reminds me of Guitar Man. I didn't know if I should view it as lyrics in a song or as a poem...so I read it as a poem in a song and concluded -
"A good time man that's all I be
A good time man living wild and free
You gave your heart to a fool like me
A good time man could never set you free."

An interesting poem of lyrics of a man mourning the loss of a lover as he partied wild and free until
his loss made him realize what was meant to be. Well written with a catchy refrain and a lesson in those poignant words!

Really like your lyrics. wish we could hear the song. it's hard to play the field and hold onto real love. i am assuming this is not a marital affair but a young couple dating. merry Christmas :-))

Brett after the first couple of stanzas I was visualizing the Black Keys playing this is some dirty little dive bar, or a concert in a field. Thank you for sharing, this was a really enjoyable work. I thought I could see the tension as he was deciding if he wanted to keep up his traveling ways or not. Thank you again.

Hello Brett :)
I like your good time man song. I can imagine a catchy tune to go with your lyrics. At some point, we all have to make a choice about love, do we want a good time or a soulmate? Good job!

Right from the start, a sort of melody evolved for me (a sort of
country-pop crossover bop) :-)
I like the way the singer fluctuates between being madly
in love and sorry that he done her wrong and admitting
he's all about the party. It's had to accept rejection (even
when you know you caused it - so falling back
onto - "Hey, it was all just for fun" is a natural default. But
it's clear, he really is heartbroken.

This is an interesting poem that the author has created with this piece of writing. This is so very true. At some stage or other we all have to make the decision to give up the good times, or not as the case may be.

If he really is a good time man, he will never have lasting love. He has lost her unless he change can truly commit. To keep her he needs realize he loves her and only her and give up his roving. But I don't know if he'll ever do that. How sad.
It makes a nice country song.

Seems to be a perfectly fine set of lyrics
A somebody did somebody wrong song. Could fit many styles but it does have a country song feel to me.
Fifth Stanza; "This is more than I can take from you" sounds like you're blaming her for your mistake. And why should she care about your "poor" heart when you cheated on her.
Tenth stanza; Should maybe be worded a little more contrite "So I will gladly go through hell" "To get to the kiss and tell"
But hey I'm just a hack. Well done.

"So after I go to Hell". (As in she told him where to go). Somehow I always liked that expression, and wanted to include it in one of my lyrics. Glad you enjoyed this. Your comments and support appreciated.
