Grandmas' love for their grandchildren is proverbial and your gift of a new car to Emma is a bright example. The poem adds a dose of much needed humor. Sometimes, grandchildren become wayward due to indulgence of grandparents. I am sure it is not the case here.

I shudder when I see students at the school where I teach studying tor their Driver's Licence - I wouldn't trust some of them to walk safely on the footpath, so goodness knows what they will be like behind the wheel of a car!
Cute little poem with a humorous message - let's hope you are joking.

I'm sure Emma won't let you down!
What a lovely gesture, one she will always remember and treasure.
Great job done with the syllable count : )

Your poem is a breath of fresh air, so everyday normal, and so funny. Your notes help greatly in explaining Grandma's assignment; the buying of a car for your granddaughter with inheritance money. The job is one of joy as for a young person, this is a seminal day. But, your closure is a hoot. You have to warn 'everyone off the highway'. I hope Emma loved her present. It's sounds like she did. A very cute, well scribed verse making the most of 34 syllables.

In my opinion, a charming and articulate poem about the potential hazard of a driving teen - kudos for such a fun and realistic read...

I like this poem and it made me laugh. I enjoyed reading this one and loved the picture. I found this very funny as my sister is always saying to me, if I learn to drive, she will learn to fly lol. Good luck in the contest and thank you for sharing.

Brief and to the point. You've
said so very much and in such
a clever way with so few words.
This is a delightful poem, one
that needs to be tacked up over
every Grandma's desk. no nits
or spags. Lora

First you give them a car, and the next thing you know: they're driving you to drink. (lol) You have a cute poem here; it should do well in the contest. Cheers.

34 Syllables and you nailed it. I just bought my grandson a car and I know the feeling. You covered the driving experience and we can fill in the blanks.

That is every Grand Parent and Parent's night mare. It is hard to let them out of sight especially in a car for the first time. Thank you for helping her out by buying that first car.
