I read this one too. I think I've read them all, even if I've not been able to rub two presentable thoughts together to appreciate the poem's context

In this one, I like that you've used the fable of the emperor wears no clothes, thought... at least in this poem rendition, with a bit of contemplation at the end, the king has the decency to be embarresed... has enough self awareness to realize something is amiss.

Today, the vogue thing to do is double down and say the foolish boy is spreading fake rumors in not recognizing the clothes as the bestest clothes. The king only wears the most greatest clothes, and anyone who says otherwise is a liar and a villain. It's the boy who is not wearing clothes at all.

Reality need not apply.

An upstart lad indeed, with the gumption to state the truth, now that makes for a novel tale Craig. I'd say I've learnt another new word, but I'm sure I won't be able to remember all the new words you are throwing out at us. The lesson for me is - less preening and gloating. ha ha
cheers Craig,
valda

I'm certain I won't remember too many of them, Valda. I somehow doubt you have too many problems with preening and gloating...
    Many thanks, Craig

My only complaint about this beauty is that it ended far too soon. But your mastery in sewing in the diamond word, alamodic is nothing short of genius.

The way I figure, it's best not to gloat about anything at all, even those things that are factual. It does seem to be voguish to gloat these days.

Excellent poem friend, Craig! I hope you enter the story in a poem contest with all your new words.

One suggestion, a glossary of all the words you've used so far this year would be handy. :))

It could be, Gloria. My only concern is whether listing them all out with their meanings in one document might be considered infringing on the copyright of the book. I know kind of doing that anyway, but over 365 instalments seems a bit less of a worry. What do you think?

    Cheers,
    Craig

you'd best not be lax, make sure of your facts
before you start preening and gloating.

Excellent advice and a great message in a story

Hi, Craig;
It's easy to see why you would use the 'Emperor's New Clothes' for this new word of yours. Alamodic is exactly what comes to mind when we are told of how the Emperor imagines his new outfit.

Well done,

~patty~

Very 'A-la-mode'. Loving these linguistic treats. Do I detect a soupcon of political commentary, here? It's a charming little piece, well done.

This is a good word and poem combination. The Emperors new clothes :)

- "Has anyone (one) seen..." - I'm not sure what word you meant to place in there?

alamodoc and euphoric work for me. Yay you!

Loved your new word! Alamodic = extremely fashionable! I shall used it when my daughters criticise my outfit, I shall say it is alamodic! Love it! I enjoyed your version of the fairytale too! Love Dolly x
