Hi, Craig;
Thank you for sharing a lune poem to express your new word, 'syne.' I've moved far past reflecting too much on times gone by for the past year, and I think it has helped me to put things in perspective,

There's a difference between reflecting and dwelling or fixating, I think. Still, there are times when it's best to look to the future or concentrate on the present as well. Cheers, Craig
Comment from Gloria ....
Love the portrait, Craig. I guess it wasn't a selfie otherwise he'd be looking at himself. I always call it the old, long song and for some reason it reminds me of the Titanic. lol.
Nonetheless a lovely Lune and I learned the real meaning of the word.
Best wishes to you in the contest. :)

Thanks very much. Gloria. For some reason, I find the thought of Robert Burns holding his iPhone in a selfie stick as he snaps a picture of himself hilarious. Can't wait to check it out on his Facebook page. :) Cheers, Craig

Craig, This is a very well written Lune poem you have penned for the contest. You used very good descriptive wording and very good imagery with the art work you chose. Best wishes in the contest. Teri

I didn't know that. So now I know :) You have fine syllable placement as per the contest requirements. I like the change of font color to emphasize the aha line or moment. Best wishes in the comtest.

This was a great way to showcase your word "syne", Craig! Your presentation is striking and it was very clever to use an 'old time' picture of a man to convey that time has gone by. "Auld lang syne" is something we hear every New Year's Eve when the song plays "auld lang syne". It's hard to believe that 230 years later we are still singing Robert Burns' song. Some things are timeless. :)
Good luck in the contest with this winner of an entry! ~~ Connie

A very well-written poem, unfortunately, it is not the format of the Lune. It should be 5-3-5 in other words the first line should be five syllables, second line three syllables, third line five syllables again.

A perfect lune, and personally, it resonates strongly with me tonight... Oddly enough, I just heard something on a sitcom this evening though that did too - it's great to reflect on the past from time to time, but not for too long...
Best of luck in the contest!

Thank you. I don't think it's really contest material, but I intended to do a short one with that word, so why not slay two crows with the one pebble? (Now that I've typed that, I realised I don't like that saying anyway lol)
I smell dinner burning... I'll answer your other reply after :)
