Craig, This is a very interesting poem about the Who. I remember playing their music when I was a lot younger and dancing to some of it. Very good wording, great picture and good notes. Blessings, Teri

Thanks so much for the lovely review, Teri. I blame this band for my poor hearing, thanks to sitting a few feet away from a massive speaker when I went to see the film "Tommy". (I still like their music, though lol) - Cheers, Craig

Thanks very much, Barb. You probably recognise one of their songs from CSI, if you watch that show. Or maybe you know the song Pinball Wizard? It's from an album called Tommy, which later became a rock opera movie starring the band, plus a few other famous names... Eric Clapton, Elton John, Tina Turner, Oliver Reed, Ann-Margret and Jack Nicholson. The only thing important about them as far as the poem goes is he drummer's name was Moon lol

Oh yes I do

I'm familiar with that song, but not with the band or its members. I'm even less familiar with the girl named Amanda or Lunette. Did she get named Lunette and then change her name to Amanda? Or is she going by her middle name? I think I prefer the name Lunette.

If Mr & Mrs Smith have a daughter, they might call her "Susan", or perhaps she might be referred to as "the little Smith girl". So when the drummer from The Who, named Keith Moon, had a daughter, he named her Amanda. But she could also be called "the little Moon". That's what I was trying to get across in the footnote. Sorry, the joke eluded enough people (pretty much everyone) to make me think it's not funny. When I read the poem to my other half, she got it straight away. I suppose that's why we are together lol

A very well-written fun poem to incorporate the word of the day lunette into the poem. Great imagination and exvellent rhyming used telling a mini story in a poem.

Okay, you've got me thinking of CSI, and their opening theme song is now stuck in my head ... Who are you? ... who, who ... who, who?.
This is creative, Craig. I have heard of "lunette" and it's meaning before. I love how you've approached this word with your write. There's also a play on words here. One can even take "lunette" as 'loon-ette' ... 'a little crazy', instead of just a 'little moon' being the little offspring of Mandy's dad, Keith. No wonder she says "but I beg you don't call me Lunette". :) ~~ Connie
This is a fun write. It had me smiling! ~~ Connie

This speaks an introduction about the person of the band, to address name calling properly and not to call Lunette; well said, well done. Keep writing. DR ALCREATOR

Thanks, Trudi. Glad to hear there are more Whovians (can we steal that word?) out there :)

I'd never encountered 'lunette' before, that's a great word. Time to start concocting excuses to use it :)
Very good, once again, nothing at all to suggest.
Great job with all of these.
Take care.

I like it too. It makes a lot more intuitive sense than some of the others :) Cheers, Craig

That's Keith with the extraordinary eyebrows, isn't it?
I've never really thought about the meaning of lunette, although 'little moon'' is obvious really. And interestingly the plural is French for glasses (spectacles) so that's an interesting etymology as well.
Anyway, great fun, and clever.

Hi Steve,
Yes, he of the amazing eyebrows is Keith. I can see the connection with spectacles, although I have no idea what that's got to do with insects!
(running for cover)
Thanks for the kind review :)

I don't know much about her either. She wrote a book about her life as Keith's daughter, but I haven't read it. Many thanks, Dolly.
