This limerick was amusing...Besides the fun of fathoming how someone burglers their own house, or how auto bugler.even means..

Ha! I just realized... as I went back to look for the word auto burgle, that this limerick is also an acrostic. I didn't even notice that, which means that the acrostic aspect of this piece is very smooth, unjostling.

Fun.

Thanks for the lovely comments, Turtle. I think, when I wrote this, I was feeling a little aggrieved at some of the nonsense words being offered up. But, thought I, "at least it can't get any worse". Of course, everybody is wrong sometimes...

    Most grateful,

I've had a bit of entertainment here, trying to predict what your alternative last line might have been! Poor old Klaus. In a metaphorical sort of way many people rob themselves and end up paying for it dearly!

I can give one hint, but no more... it involved someone called "Roberto".

    Many thanks, Tony.

That's a funny word. I'm sure some burglars need the practice before heading out to strangers homes so they practice on their own homes first? It would be aggravating if the strangers kept their valuables someplace different from home. All that practice would go down the drain.

I love that you used a double limerick acrostic. You get the wow factor from me. Sorry to be out of sixes. This is a six star poem.

Thank, Joy :) I thought the word was just too silly to actually use it in the body of the poem lol

Haha ... a funny limerick, and your author notes are a scream, Craig! I'm thinking that maybe a burglar would burgle his own home to perhaps try and cast suspicion onto someone else and away from himself. Either that or he had a brain fart and just got carried away. Or maybe he's addicted to stealing and ran out of other homes to burgle. :)

I enjoyed this clever and funny write, Craig. The last line is a zinger! ~~ Connie

A very well-written acrostic poem. It is a very sad case about poor Klaus that propably did not even noticed he is busy robbing his own house at the time it must have been a total shock to him when he finds out. Lol.

I can just picture himself saying, as he stuffs things into his sack... "Hey, I've got one of those!". Many thanks, Sandra.

Very funny limerick Craig, great little story about this louse named Klaus. I wonder how many of these words you'll ever use again once this challenge is done. Glad you were inspired by the winter Olympics with this double with a twist. LOL
cheers,
valda

This is hilarious! What a fun poem and I've never heard of that word before and why would you burgal your own house! I love your colour acrostic which has great rhymes and flow, a joy to read, love Dolly x

Au contraire victimless crime, Craig. There was a victim and that Klaus. Still what an ingenious idea to use this word as an acrostic limberick. The pivot line understandably is to perfection as is the entire story. If this was in a contest I'd even vote for it. :)

This is truly a delight.

LOL. Oh my, are we in a snit because of today's word? I think it's cute, and you certainly managed to come up with an amusing poem using it. :)) Seriously? An acrostic double limerick isn't easy to write? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Well done.

LOL! Good piece. There is actually a word for that??? I laughed when I read he'd burgled his own home, but now I wonder why it's common enough to rate its own word. There are more sick people in the world than I'd thought. :)

I'm considering changing it, as there are sensitive souls who might be offended... this is the alternate version (last stanza only):

Reluctance to well use his time
Got Klaus in a whole lot of lime
    Locked up in his cell
    And lonely as hell
    Regretting his "victimless crime"

Or should I just let them be offended? lol

    Cheers,
    Craig

Let them fall to the floor crying. I don't see a line in the Constitution that says..."Everyone, including illegal aliens, foreign agents, and Muslim terrorists shall have a right not to be offended by the free speech of any American. If these two amendments clash, this new amendment shall overrule the first."
