It's a humorous commentary. Undecimber...what a word!
I enjoyed the rhymes in the second stanza. Clever and fun to read aloud.
Suggestions:
These days(,) my brain's not sharp, nor(or) half as limber,
as it once was,(;) I need an undecimber.
Love the rhymes!
Enjoyed.
Warmly, rd

Well, write as often as you like. Who am I to judge how busy you are in your personal life. I can see how somebody asking you to write more could be stressful. Another interesting word I've never heard of.

LOL well, in spite of the title, it was just a bit of fun - I'm a compulsive liar ;-) Thanks Joy! Craig

Humour's not a bad category for this! It's good to be able to laugh at one's own failings. It sounds as though you need a Duodecimber too! I was phased at first by the 'i', until I remembered 'undecim', the Latin for eleven and then added the two extra months put in the Roman calendar for Julius and Augustus (cleverly inserted to coincide with the sunniest time of the year!). Nice rhyming in this most 'passable example'!

Thanks for the good-humoured review, Tony. There's plenty to laugh at! Much appreciated, and more silliness on the way, I'm afraid. Cheers, Craig

What an amazing word! I want one! Another month would be just fine like an extra month of life give to us. Your pome is quaint and endearing, loved it, love Dolly x

Thanks very much, Dolly. Hard as it may be to believe, I don't always get told my poems are quaint and endearing, so I take that as quite a compliment! :) Much appreciated, Craig

This is a very well written poem using yet another new word. You used very good descriptive words and very good imagery with your words. It was a little funny to me! Blessings, Teri

Thanks so much, Teri. I'm glad you got a bit of a smile from it. I like to poke fun at myself sometimes - goodness knows, there's plenty of material to work with. Cheers, Craig :)

lol I am right there with you my friend. I think with me it's called open mouth insert foot!

Well this is most entertaining, Craig. I suppose a person could use an extra month because that would make us all a lot younger, yes? I can see how neatly you worked your word in, didn't even need a shoe-horn.
Great job and are you still friends with the femalian who told you should write more? ;-)

Sadly, no. I just couldn't continue associating with someone of such obviously poor judgement!
Many thanks, Gloria!

Another good word, but a very strange one. Why would anyone add another month? Oh, wait. Julius Caesar added July, and Augustus Caeser added August, which is why Sept, Oct, Nov, and Dec no longer stand for 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th month of the year. Those undecimbers sure can make a mess! :)

It amazes me all these words I have never seen or heard previously. I like this one.
Does your cabinet contain the etymology as well as definitions? Is it set up the same as a dictionary?

It contains a one-page summary, which usually has some narrative about the origin of the word. When I have time, and if I think it's interesting, I'll include some comment about that, although my conscience dictates I can't just reproduce the book. Also, unlike a dictionary, it doesn't contain pronunciation "hints". Cheers, Craig.

Well, I recognized the daily word right away, and of course am glad again you gave the definition! I think it fits fine in the humor category too, it made me smile, as did your comments about rhyme & meter.

Thanks Linda. As you only gave it 4, I'm wondering if you have any comments as to how I could make it better? If not that's fine. Cheers, Craig

Craig,
Maybe I am a little out of practice in reviewing in addition to writing:) I think at first read, it seemed to not flow as well in a place or two, but when I reread it now, I sure could not find a place to suggest a change. I think it helped that this time I read just each 2 lines at a time instead of straight through. Sorry, I sure did not mean to imply anything was wrong.

Thanks for getting back to me. It's definitely not the best thing I've written lol. But generally, I'm very happy to make any changes someone might suggest, if they make sense to me - which most often they do :)
Cheers, Linda!
