Before reading this poem I had never heard of this style of poetry, and I am thrilled to have been introduced to the cleave by such a beautiful display of sheer talent. I loved the imagery, the message, and the delivery, it was so well put together that I am awestruck. I cannot believe that you can read this three ways, and that you were able to manipulate the words so that each way can stand alone, but when together they are magic.
Thank you for teaching me something new today, and for sharing this poem. I learned two things, really, because I never new that white tulips symbolized forgiveness.
Perfect!

Hello Maureen!
I am incredibly honored by your exceptional rating and complimentary review.
This is the second Cleave poem I have ever attempted = challenging, but rewarding!
My mother was a master floral designer, and I own a number of her books that deal with the language of flowers...
So pleased my words resonated with you!
Thank you again!

This is a beautiful poem, with a wonderful, meaningful message, but I have to believe, it must be very difficult to write a "cleave" poem. I doubt I would ever attempt one. You have done such a fantastic job with this one. No matter how I read it, I see its beauty. Congratulations for winning second in this crowded contest. You obviously deserved the award. MM

Forgiveness is easier said and than done. To me and I'm sorry is just words. You need to prove it but I guess at least and I'm sorry is them acknowledging they hurt you?

Wow. That was really good. I enjoyed it when I read the whole thing, and then I separated them into two parts, and each one was good. Great job with this work.

Hello Katie!
This is the second cleave poem I have ever attempted.
Needed to be snowbound to do it...and lots of coffee!
Thank you for your thoughtful and complimentary review.

A still relatively new form of poetry, I believe from around 2006 or so, you made the creation of this one seem easy to write, which they definitely are not. Well stated on all three parts. That, by the way, was the intent of the poet who created this form - how something can be more than the sum of its parts. This should make a real good entry into this contest. I don't give sixes often, this deserves one.

Hello Brett!
I am truly honored and humbled by your exceptional rating and thoughtful review.
I like how your describe a cleave poem: "how something can be more than the sum of its part." (Kind of how I see myself! :))
Thank you again!

Hello Kiwi,
This is the second cleave poem I have ever penned. Not certain if I have it in me to pen another. Might need to be snowbound again...with a lot more coffee!
Thank you for your positive and complimentary review!

Wow! That is D-E-E-P on all three levels, Mrs. KT. I have never heard of such a challenge. Moreover, I've never seen a challenge so successfully engineered. You'll think me daft, but it reminded me of the Gettysburg Address. There is a dignity that rises from it that is greater than the sum of its words, horizontally, vertically, even diagonally. You captured it all. A beautiful job.
Oh, doggone it, I thought I had a six left. Sorry, friend. it is deserving of one.

I have not heard of this form before and it looks like quite a challenge to write. You have completed the form very nicely and this tulip is a perfect flower to add to your message.
Well done
