Fun Limerick, ... strong, easy to follow limerick beat and rhyming scheme while incorporating the word of the day.
This one reminds me of the Lord, it's hard to be humble song. In that song, the singer is speaking of himself, and declaring he's doing the best he can... to be humble, while being perfect in every way.
There's a bit of amusement when, in the same breath, there is a claim of being above criticism and without compare, and yet not bragging.

Well, thank you for taking the time to check out more :) One problem, I've found, with setting myself the task of writing a poem a day, come what may (oh, I rhymed lol), especially when having to use specific, and rather strange, words is that it's difficult to make all the pieces of similar quality. There are definitely better ones I've posted recently than this one. Regardless, thanks for the lovely comments. Craig

Oh, I read an article sometime last year (or was it the year before...hmm..LOL) on Barnum and Bailey - I mention it only because your limerick reminded me of some of the things the writer claimed were true of the characters. It was actually very thorough and interesting. (www.Internet - LOL)

I think that Barnumism is a word worthy of a limerick. It is such an appropriate word that it deserves revival. I say revival because my computer says there is no such word. Enjoyed your post as usual. Keep em coming.

Not sure how that happened, Debbie - I think your computer is fibbing. I got 8,800 hits in Google for it. This is the first:

Hi Don, Thanks very much for the kind review. My intention was that it was Chisholm who was making the claim about Barnumism (along with all the other boastful claims). So it's really a case of irony - his actions contradicting his words. I guess that didn't come across clearly. Have a great Easter yourself! Cheers, Craig

Yes, I assumed it was Chisholm. I'm trying to help, Craig. My point is anyone who is that blatantly boastful is guilty, not devoid, of Barnumism.
