This is just so clever. What a wonderful tale told to use your new word, "naufragous" which remains hard to roll off the tongue. Great work again. Dorinda

Hi Craig. Great job here. Your poem has two meanings--a real shipwreck--perhaps caused by an incompetent naufragous captain and the ending couplet which suggests that we be the captain of our own ship in life. You have written a 'NOT-sonnet' and I was informed that my haibun written the other day is not a haibun. Therefore, I have dubbed it a 'NOT-haibun' and I intend to write many more 'NOT-haibuns' in the future.

This is a great poem. I think it's a wonderful idea to write a poem every day using a new word. Good for you! I now know the meaning of . . . Okay, I forget how to spell it! Lol. Anyways, thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the kind words, Cheryl. It is a bit of a tongue-twister, and not something I'd be likely to just casually drop into a conversation! Cheers, Craig

A very well-written poem about a sinking ship. When we plan to take a boat trip it is important to make sure the ship crew is competent and not leave the passengers to sink while the crew flee for their own lives.

This is a clever write about a ship with idiots at the helm. In the end we only have ourselves to blame if we take poor advice, love the sentiments behind your words. A clever word this is and great rhymes in the poem too! Love Dolly x

You certainly did a wonderful job with the word of the day. And the story to go along with it I love your style and I love your persistence in writing a piece from the word of the day. This venture seems to take you on a journey with your persistence to write a story from the word of the day. I love your drive to do it.

This speaks about a shipwreck, a good message given that it is never wise to allow incompetents to control a ship; retells the story in a free flow of thoughts; well said, well done. DR ALCREATOR
