A solid 5-7-5 here,

I like that though you use the visual of two seismic animals clashing, this poem also does well to apply with will, and when two juggernauts of opinion clash as well. The physical attributes of the collision transfer to a less easy to express emotional landscape.

Thanks once again, Turtle. I think sometimes you "get" my poems better than I do :) Cheers, Craig

Craig, This is a very well written 5-7-5. You used very good descriptive words and a very good picture to go with your words. Best wishes in the contest. Teri

Love this picture and it certainly does go perfectly with your -terremotive- 5-7-5 poem Craig.
They certainly look like immovable objects. Enjoyed these two,
cheers,
valda

Reader's Digest quipped, Immovable object, irresistible force, inconceivable smash.
Another new word. Excellent. And in a well laid out five seven five, too.

That would be excellent for a 666 poem - is there such a thing? It would make for a devil of a competition. Thanks for the kind comments - Craig

You are too clever. I can't keep up. I have no sixes left AGAIN. While I might not often award a six to a small poem anyway, this one would sure have one if I had any left.
I think it's time to stop giving them out at all - maybe if we all refused to use them, Tom would allot them according to the reviewing we do... I review some consistently exceptional pieces/writers... I'm sorry, Craig.

It's fine, Dawn :) I often find I have no sixes to award a piece which truly deserves it - which is a shame. Many thanks for the kind words, Craig

I love elephants. These animals amaze with their family structure and tenderness toward each other. Terremotive (seismic)--I can only imagine when these creatures oppose each other. Nicely constructed poem. Marilyn

It's an interesting new word, Craig even though in this instance I'm going to stick with seismic even though terremotive has a certain appeal. I think it's the motive part that attracts me.

Excellent and earth shattering fiveseventyfive and best of luck to you in the contest.

Gloria

A very well-written 5-7-5 poem. Two equal strengths against each other is a powerful force that can go to any length. Either one can win in the elephant fight.

Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

From where do you get your word-of-the-day prompts? This one is described clearly and your accompanying picture is perfect. Dorinda

I usually put this little snippet in the comments, unless I've entered the piece in a contest (Don't ask me why I don't then, I don't know lol):

My much-treasured Christmas present for 2017 is a book by Paul Anthony Jones: "The cabinet of linguistic curiosities". Each page contains a descriptive story about some obscure or archaic word. It occurred to me it would be a fun exercise to try and write, each day, a poem featuring the "word of the day" from the book.

Many thanks for the wonderful comments & rating - Craig

Aye, terremotive, indeed. Terrifying, too.
Rather easy to trace this one--earth moving. Still, I've never heard it used in a sentence, let alone a poem.
One of these brute will have to win.
I hope you will, too.

Peace, Lee
