Hi, Craig;
I find this new word very descriptive and a great way to talk about the political discussions found on every source of social media these days. Thank you for sharing another great word from your book,

~patty~

Lol. Great one to do with a limerick! I never heard of a "whipmegmorum." I looked it up and it said it was original the name of a Scottish dance. I was stuck on the "whip me" which was what it was like at the only council meeting I attended where all the people came up to the mike, thanked the council members for their work and then proceeded to verbally "whip" them for their decisions.

    Now that's funny - "whip me". It's certainly a mouthful. Thanks for the great review, Helen - Craig.

Sounds like you've been tuned into the ABC's Parliament for this one. What a hard word to pronounce, I don't think you could say it too quickly. Lovely little political limerick Craig.
cheers,
valda

Haha, great job on the limerick! What a strange and fun word is whipmegmorum - naturally the FS spellchecker doesn't know this one. I love your rhyme with decorum, you hit the jackpot with that one.
Nice job, my friend :)

    Thanks so much for lovely comments, Carol. I like to imagine this word being said in a broad, Scottish brogue :) Cheers, Craig

A perfectly written Limerick, Craig. I must admit the political forum does lack a lot of decorum because the art of debate has for the most part been lost with the Internet, fueled by partisan politics, so those folks degrade into personal and irrelevant insults as that is what seems to fly as entertainment these days. It makes us all less informed in the process.

Great word though and many thanks for the entertainment.

A very well-written poem. I usually are not talking about politcs because nine out of ten times there is an argument between the two parties who are in normal circumstances the best of friends.

Bravo! Fantastic word and a great limerick worthy of it. Everyone can relate to the topic here. Whipmegmorums are held daily by Whipmegmorons. There... I've coined another new word to use with yours. I think it's pretty accurate in most cases. :)

a bit of decorum, Craig? How about a ton?

I love you limerick. Good job on its style. You used the word in a fun, but true, way. Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed reading it. Jan

Ah yes, I am all to familiar with ye old whipmegmorum. My son in law is a politician and par takes in some pretty darn good discussions when the legislature is in session here in Alberta. I'm never amazed at the childishness of the opposing party responses to his proposals and comments. I always thought debates should be witty and lead us to seeing a good point. My son in law's discussions and debates raise good points and concerns regarding the people of Alberta. We share videos of the bizarre answers he gets back from the party in power often. Yep, your word is perfect today.

    At their best, political debates are informative and witty exchanges of views. Unfortunately, in this country, they are usually a haphazard collection of personal insults and erroneous conclusions. Oh for decent debate :) Many thanks, Joy.

    I had a look and I think you've done it, my friend :) I like this poem and the subject. I've been taking allergy meds morning and night to keep on top of my sinus congestion caused by the pollen in the air.
