Thanks so much, Valda. We're all different - I couldn't handle that at all. And if we have a year without snow, I feel cheated. Much appreciated - Craig

Cozying Up to a Warm, Log Fire (*wink*)

Raise a glass to the food we'll be sharing;
all good friends, cherry brandy and herring.
I make a fish stew
that is so good for you
even fish and the pan like the pairing. :))

I'm fairly sure the fish don't share your enthusiasm, Dawn lol

Many thanks for the lovely reciprocal limerick :)

I get so confused about us having opposite seasons from you. You're having winter and we're having our first weekend of summer. It's pouring cats and dogs right now with thunder and lightning. My son's dog is frightened of thunder. None of the three dogs will go outside to do their business so I'm wondering how long they can hold it.

Neat word for today. Once again it's a word I have never heard of before.

Joy xx

Hopefully for your sake, they can hold it until the storm abates! Many thanks :)

Hi, Craig,

Hmmm. Sounds like a lovely way to spend the winter, doesn't it?

I find this new word to be a fun one, but now I will have to think of a story in which folks are going to spend the winter somewhere.

Thank you for sharing,

~patty~

I'm a very reasonable person, Patty. I won't ask for huge royalties when you write your best-seller based on the concept. A few percent will do :) Cheers - Craig

I will give you one percent of whatever story I write about cold winter weather.

That won't be necessary lol. However, I'm expecting a decent discount if I purchase a copy!

This is a limerick right. Seems to match that form with exact stressing and unstressing of syllables. I had no clue as to your new word except for the context around it. I wonder if the root is related to hibernate which is another way to wait out winter. Nice poem. Thank you for sharing

Your limerick rhymes well with good cadence. The image is cozy. Here we are at the beginning of summer as you approach your fall/winter. In enjoyed reading this and learned the new word, "hiemate." Marilyn

Not approaching, Marilyn, we're well into it. Winter here starts on 1st June - no hanging about waiting for silly solstice things here! Many thanks, Craig

Excellent limerick form, Craig. You worked your new word in as smooth as an icicle on a tin roof.

But now that the cat's out of the bag your boss is gonna know you played hooky from work.

Enjoyed very much.

Interesting word and I wonder if it just lost to hibernate? I can see the word for winter in hibernate (hiver in French) better than in hiemate. I guess you're closing in on winter there?

A very well-written Limnerick. I am always glad when the winter solstice arrives, it is a great sign that the winter is going to go out slowly and spring will come back again soon.

Thanks again for adding to my vocabulary. I too, do not like cold weather and the feeling expressed in this work is spot on! The poem reads smoothly and I like the rhyming; doesn't sound forced. Excellent.
