Hi Craig. I hope you have a good sense of humor. I thought it said decopulate. And it made sense also. Lol. I read the definition and knew it was not right. But that is what a lot of people would do after copulating. It is a great entry for the contest. Thank you for sharing

Haha, well, I've found that wine is most often more effective when used BEFORE the copulating, Pam. The word reminded me of something far less pleasant - decapitating :) Many thanks for the fun comments - Craig

Actually Craig this is a really good job. The presentation is most artistic, the five line poem is written to specs and a wonderful subject it is.

I wish you good luck in the contest with this beauty.

Gloria

Thanks so much, Gloria. It doesn't appear to have been received with a huge amount of enthusiasm, and I guess I'm not surprised - it's not a "knockout" piece. But I really do appreciate that you appreciate it, and am very grateful for the lovely rating and kind words. Craig

Thanks, but I prefer white... Especially ice wine - YUM.

Is there no end to your cleverness? Your work is always stellar, short or long. This one in particular is a small poem I would actually adorn with a six, if I had one, and I usually save sixes for bigger writes.

So there. (No go win the contest.) (Wait! I'm entered too! We can share. *grin*)

I do like a nice cold muscato as well. I think you might have this one all to yourself, Dawn. Response has so far been room temperature - as any good red should be ;-) Many thanks once again.

I like "decant" much better than "decapulate." I suppose removing the head of a bottle could be decapulating it. Lol.
Fun poem about process of enjoying wine!

The image of Louis and Marie came to my mind, too, when I saw this one. Many thanks, Helen.

What a grape--uh great tanka Craig. Your presentation is super--the color scheme, the picture, the word choices, & the message. Thanks for sharing & best wishes. Jan

Nice wine theme for this poem and word of the day :) I was getting decapulate mixed up with decapitate. Sorry! I'm not a wine lover, give me rumfruity drinks and I'd be happy to decapulate. Best wishes in the contest.

That is exactly what came to mind when I saw the word, Joy. Visions of Louis and Marie. I nearly wrote a silly verse about being scared of losing my head, but decided against it :)

Hi, Craig,

I always knew there was another name for this besides decant. Once upon a time, I used to know so much about wine. And then, I decided I knew too much about wine, so now, I know nothing.

Thank you for this cute little poem about the proper drinking of a fine wine,

~patty~

Well, even though I enjoy the stuff as much as anyone, I believe I can honestly say I've never indulged to the point of more than the slightest buzz. Which makes me (a) unusual, and (b) boring. Even my other half doesn't believe me on this, so I'll forgive you if you don't (not the boring bit, I know you'll believe that).

Thanks you for a delightful review - Craig

An enticing five-line poem setting a mood--suggesting intimacy and romance over a glass of red wine, including the new word from your gift book. Nicely composed and illustrated. Good luck in the contest. Marilyn

I like both the word and the atmosphere you have suggested here. Nothing like the sharing of a good bottle of red! Mind you, I feel a bit discombobulated after decapulating a bottle or two!

Well, I won't tell if you don't, Tony. Now where did I put that corkscrew? Many thanks - Craig

Dear CD,
I found your entry to be suitable for the contest. * The image, created by your words,
builds up anticipation in the reader's mind.
Might even encourage drinking! Haha!
Best of luck!

Some people become very cute and charming when they've been drinking, some not so much. I think it depends on the company :)

Many thanks for the kind words and good wishes, Deidre Anne.
