After spending way too much time either in the Navy/Army, or working for them as a Civilian, I know way too many acronyms that are backronyms. I could tell you some, but then I'd have to kill you. sorry

Hah! I love it! :) :) :) I worked for the DoD (grin!) for some time and there are some meetings that could have aptly been labeled alphabet soup! :) :) And, of course, being a programmer, it was doubled or tripled on a regular basis!

I guess that there wasn't much choice but to express this one in the form of an acronym poem! An interesting subdivision of acronymic forms. Backronyms like SPECTRE where the root word also holds something of the meaning of the acronym are especially effective.

A very well-written acrostic poem explain the word backronym and its meaning. It is the opposite of an acronym. We make up words from first letters of a phrase of words to make it easier to pronounce as well.

This one is your best to date, for me.
I mean, if you are going to do it, do it in such a manner that you engage the reader on as many levels as possible: and with this one I think you have done so.
The notes alone are engaging!

My own contribution to your on-going education is ISO which is used by the International Organisation for Standardization - which would be IOS but only of course IF it was meant to be an acronym, which it is not: they use ISO in block capitals but in reference "isos" a Greek word (as expressed in the western alphabet and in lower case and with an extra 's') meaning "equal".
...and real people get PAID to think up, think through and then subject us to this type of stuff! Nice work if you can get it I am sure.
