we'll screw Mars up as well, then move along.
(That is what viruses are prone to doing... take over host... use it up, try to jump to new host before old host dies. So hope and travesty are dependent on which side of the glass one is looking through. I would like to keep some hope that humans in space won't be a complete travesty, but the outlook is grim some days more than others. Nice use of ecopoiesses.

If it can be established on mars... maybe some ecopoiesses can be circled back around and used on the earth again, too.

Hi Craig. I agree with you completely. Why not just revive this planet? Why go off and ruin another planet. Neither Mars nor people who ruined this planet deserve it. It is the wealthy saying "I can escape and you can't" so they can feel superior. I had one meter suggestion. See below. Thank you for sharing

I had a bit of trouble with the meter here. it's does not seem like a stressed syllable. Check out if replacing it with what after replacing the comma with a semicolon. Just a thought

Yep, I love the wry irony in this. In movies we portray aliens coming to Earth from other planets and they are acquisitive destroyers of life similar to locusts, and yet we learn the aliens are us.

Oh well, it's in our nature, yes? The meek will neither inherit the Earth nor anything from the loving family estate.

This poem, The New Frontier, employs your new word and begins the debate on whether moving this show to Mars will benefit anybody. Private industries will get rich, naturally. We'll need to deplete the Earth to build foundation on Mars. Who am I kidding. The moon landing might not have been bunk, but everything about Mars will be an exaggeration or out and out lie. We are in the time of "I am Trump all day long and you're not."
