This is a very well written, but very sad poem you have penned. You used very good descriptive words that are so full of the truth. That is so sad about that little boy. Well done my friend! Blessings, Teri

I don't think that there are words enough in the human vocabulary to describe the horrific things that are going on with these refugees and the sad thing is that the president of the United States it's somewhat justifying these things that are going on

Comment from Jesse James Doty
This poem is one of your best. It doesn't stray from what you intend to say. The photo is very sad to see. Your Author's notes are as important as the poem. Though that being said, your piece is very well written. I think what shocked me most was that the press was blocked by FDR from writing about the Holocaust. You tell it like it really is and I admire you for that. The poem should be published, for many to read and understand, how we are doing the same thing, as before, in history. This is definitely deserving of a sixth star. Not only for the message but, for the skillful writing. Thank you for sharing.
Take care, Jesse

What a heartbreaking poem about a very sad issue. I didn't know that about the Jewish refugees in 1939 - how horrifying. Thanks for sharing this empathetic piece (and history) with us.

Great job connecting with a past example of refugees. It seems that history always had waves of refugees and when they were able to successfully relocate, it was a blessing to that welcoming country.

Comment from Gloria ....
Such an important message, Pam and now even more than ever. It's heartbreaking when people believe they are heading for refuge only to find inhumanity on an even larger scale. The first thing we have to do is stop lying and get on with accepting ourselves for the truth.
Very nicely written albeit a huge tragedy.

Your poem is well written and hard hitting friend. It seams to be a never ending cycle on this planet of ours and things just don't seam to change. People seam to fear what the refugees might bring to there shores, be that religion, fanaticism or just there ability to pay for their care... that is so wrong and definitely needs to change for we are all one people and we all deserve better from our fellow man!
An exceptional post friend, well done!

Comment from Lady Jane
Exceptional write here. It embodies the very situation we all so carelessly ignore. We've turned the other cheek on our brothers and sisters. Excellent story telling in this passionately accurate penning. Rhyme was steady and meter perfectly paced. I found no errors and the final line, yes - inhumanity ... bought and paid for by that tiny soul and so many more. Just a timely write, dear. I am grateful to read this today. I'm traveling but signed in and checked my messages. So glad I did. Keep writing and wonderful job.
