This 5-7-5, Amoeba People, has the proper setup and suggests that it would be a mov3 forward to have people gain the ability to change their shape. Neat.

Now this word we can see where it derived from, unlike womble-cropped. Very clever little cells these amoebae. I think this was my science lesson for this day,
thanks for that Craig.
cheers,
valda

LOL Thanks, Valda. I love the way single cell organisms do what they do, and how complex even the simplest microbe is. I wish I had a microscope. I haven't owned one since I was a kid. Maybe time to treat myself for Christmas lol

    Cheers,

The word with your poem gave me the definition immediately. I remember reading about Proteus in middle school. I didn't think much about him but now I realize that the sci-fi aliens borrowed from Greek mythology.

Somehow, you've made the words of this poem globular and alien - much like the photo you've chosen, and the behaviour of your subject. Well done, my friend.

Thank you again. I'd love to be able to see one of those critters for real. I must save up and buy myself a decent microscope - I haven't looked through one since I was a kid. Then, I'd like to see viruses too, but I think I need a scanning electron microscope for that. That might require more saving than I have time for before I'm pushing up daisies lol. Many thanks, friend Robbie.

Amoebae are people too, and they have just as much drive to live as do, as do, hmmm. I'm trying to think of something and not too successfully I might add.

That said great job, friend Craig.

LOL Gloria. I beg to differ, and find the comparison of amoebae to humans quite insulting. After all, how many amoebae voted for Donald Trump? Thanks for another fun review.

Hi Craig. I am trying to think of a higher life form than the amoeba which can change shapes. Change colors. Play dead. Regrow limbs. But not change into something else. I had no clue for the word. Your poem is good because humans chang moods and emotions and even motives Thank you for sharing

Octopuses can regrow limbs, change colours and play dead. They can also arrange their bodies to resemble other species, although it's a trick of being very flexible and clever, not really changing their structure. I don't know of any "animals", as opposed to microbes, that can really change their form. But maybe I just haven't heard about it :) Thanks for the great comments, Pam.

I wonder if Harry Potter is familiar with this word. He should know all about it. Proteusians abound at Hogwarts.
This was a good entry. I like at the sound of amoebaes morphing. That is how I will remember this post.

Thanks very much, Debbie. I think Hogwarts would be an amazing place to visit, though I'm not sure I'd want to live there :) Cheers, Craig

A very well-written 5-7-5 about those people/creatures that can shapeshift into any form they like to. It is quite a scary thought to think a neighbor or someone you know can shapeshift into another creature or a monster.

That would be most worrying, indeed. Thanks very much for the kind comments, Sandra.

This is a very well written poem about the amoeba people. You used very good words and great imagery from the art work. When I was in school that is one thing I enjoyed reading about. Great job my friend! Blessings, Teri

Hi there, Craig...

I think it's fair to say that we all tend to have an assortment of hats for different occasions. But then again, there are those among us who take this to a whole new level...

Never seen nor heard this word before. 'Proteusian'

I blame the umbrellas. Nasty little shape-shifting blighters they are.

kind regards

trimple
