Hi Craig. I knew or rather guessed this one as soon as I saw it. I immediately thought of pact and it seemed to fit the surrounding words. It is so nice going through life with your soulmate, isn't it? I enjoyed this. Thank you for sharing

Thanks very much for the lovely comments, Pam. Yes, this one is a bit less obscure than some of them (thank goodness). Much appreciated, Craig

Hi Craig,.
Well, if this was written to give us a smile, You hit the spot...
I really enjoyed this fun piece, good rhymes, and cadence.
The word "paction" fits well..and was a good example of an obscure or archaic word as your author notes spoke about.
It made me think of the time I used the word "alas" in a Sonnet, and was chastised..saying it was too old a word to be used in today's poetry...of course I thanked that reviewer...if that was the way he felt fine with me...sometimes the old, obscure, and archaic does fit well...thanks for sharing this with us, it made me smile, and then laugh out loud...Hugs,
Warmly,
Victoria

Thanks so much for the lovely comments, Victoria. People say the weirdest things, don't they? I love to throw a "verily", or even the occasional "forsooth" in there, just to stir them up hehe
Most grateful you stopped by to leave your thoughts -- Craig

You're quite welcome, Craig, it was my pleasure...writing is the one opportunity when we can be who we are...and I'm an old lady that's always enjoyed the writers of yesterday...
yep, people can say the weirdest thing!..
Take Care!

A great smile at the end of a long day, sir -- great job with the humorous reminder that marriage is so much more than words in a pact! :) :)
Thank you for sharing and have a great weekend ahead! :) :) Yvette

Hi Craig, this poem could have been written for me. I've just divorced within the past year, and I'm very happy for the fact. Great word you managed to fit into this well written poem. All the best. Ulla:))

Well, the biggest mistake most people make is staying far too long in a relationship that is doing them no good. I can attest to that. Congratulations on finding a happier place :) Cheers, Craig

This is a very well written poem titled wedded bliss. You used very good descriptive and rhyming words with great imagery from the art work. I enjoyed reading and reviewing this. Blessings, Teri

Hello again
"No Action without Paction" Would go well on a t-shirt, or perhaps even underwear...one never knows these days (and this one most likely never will). I'm not too sure if taking a 'poke' at the cherished institution was an intended pun - I will assume it was and credit your account accordingly.
I wish you well
cheers

Thanks so much, Phill. I would never deliberately stoop to using such tacky double-entendre... it just sort of slipped in :)
I think it's a brilliant logo you've suggested there, for the right crowd.
Thanks for the fun review.

Great rhythm, great rhyme, really incisive way of telling this all-too-common tale! I just tried to google what it is I love about the rhythm in this, and I think what you've done is called "anapestic" metre - correct me if I'm wrong. The waltz-like beat is just wonderful. Awesome stuff.

Hi Robbie,
Yes, Each line starts off with iambic for one beat, then it's anapestic for the rest. Waltz-like is a good way to describe it. Although, until you mentioned it, I wasn't aware of the meter. If I'm not writing to some set form (say, a sonnet, for example), then I don't usually bother too much with what the meter is -- it's just however it comes out lol
Many thanks for the delightful comments and the lovely rating. I'm most grateful :)

A very well-written poem. When there is nothing more than passion and lust between two people who decided to be together to satisfy there sexual desires alone are doomed to fail.

It happens that way sometimes when the stress of a "pact" or "paction" happens. It also proves that living together first doesn't guarantee "marital bliss" later. Good poem to illustrate the meaning.

It most certainly doesn't. I'm sure we've all heard stories of happy couples who decide to make it "legal", and then end up in divorce. Many thanks, Helen.
