This poem perfectly describes being intent on a book. Reading can take you away from the world and make it seem not there at all. Congrats on placing second in the contest.

This is a quite unique and finely written nonet. Congrats on your second place finish. I was drawn in, as I so enjoy reading, particularly at night, prior to bed...perfect count and presentation and I'm so happy you were recognized by your peers for this Nonet!

Thank you Karenina for popping in to review my nonet poem. I truly appreciate your thoughtful and encouraging comments. I do enjoy immersing myself in a good book. Then, at the end, I relish the cover and ponder the contents some more. If it is a really good book I am sorry to say goodbye :-) ~DD

Hello,
This is a terrific nonet :) Each line has the correct syllable requirement, and you have a fantastic triangle shape on the page which makes for great presentation. For me, your subject hits the spot. When life closes in on me, I find comfort in the pages of a book. I'm not a night time reader, but I have many days where I devote myself completely to reading a good book that empowers me to escape to an exciting fantasy world. I love it when I connect with characters that I think might choose to be my friend if they were real.
Congratulations on placing in this contest. You are a fine poet and I'm honored to have my name stand with yours in this competition.
Sincerely Joy xx

Excellent. I can't believe how well you captured a reading addict's passion! One major vice I have is reading. Often if I start a book at night, I read until I finish it. No matter what goes on around me, I get lost in the book. The line, I'm fed... hungry for more is spot on. Just a great job. Hugh

A very well-written Nonet in a perfect triangle shape. There is not many things that can beat a nice book to read at night-time in your bed especially in winter to keep the scary noises outside out of the mind.

A very well done sonnet and one that I can relate to as I am an avid reader. I love the way you make it complete without hesitation from first line to last

I love your Nonet entry. I've been reading a lot lately and getting lost in one is the best way to describe it. Your Nonet is good at describing this and nighttime reading .... to all hours .... well done and good luck with the contest.

Comment from Pantygynt
This has a lovely poetic feel to it, something that is rare in these strongly syllabic forms where poets tend to concentrate on the syllabic totals to the exclusion of all other considerations. This also has a pleasant isosceles triangular shape, which is part of the money's requirements whether or not stated in the rules for this contest.

Very nicely expressed, DD. You've captured a moment in time when we end one book--sorry it's finished--but eager to start a new one. An excellent entry into the contest. Marilyn
