Very colorful penning here with the refrain a wonderful palette of blue... I found it engaging and well structured. I enjoyed reading this wrong entry with excellent meter. I love the presentation also. I wish you all the best in the contest. Janelle

Yeah....kinda had fun with this one, I have to admit! :) ;) Was a break from 'stuff', ya know?! :) :) Thanx for the review, Janelle, and, especially for those wonderful comments -- made my morning! I do have to ask, though, why do you consider it a wrong entry...? :) :) ;) Either way, have a magnificent week ahead taking memories out of mothballs! :) ;)

A very well-written poem with great repeated lines that fits into the poem without becoming an irritable repeating. It always followed by a new color the room take on after painting it with blue paint.

This poem, House Painting Blues, is a neat instruction for mixing colors on a pallet. The repeating lines center the reader on the pallet where the magic happens. Nice work with this.

Hi whoever you are. This seems like a good entry for the contest. I am a painter. Not a house painter, but an oil painter. So I enjoyed you mixing up colors to make new ones. I once combined yellow and brown and got a unique shade of olive green. Great meter and rhyme. Good luck in the contest. Thank you for sharing

Yeah....kinda had fun with this one, I have to admit! :) ;) Was a break from 'stuff', ya know?! :) :) Thanx for the review, Pam, and, especially for those personal comments -- they always make a review so much more meaningful! :) ;) In art class, we always learned that brown was the result of red and green (I remembered for the quiz by putting together the Christmas colors and getting the Christmas tree - ha!!) so, I guess adding the yellow to the brown would help to bring out more of the green.....the whole thing has always fascinated me!! :) :)Have a magnificent week ahead taking memories out of mothballs! :) ;)

-Nice image and presentation.
-Very vivid imagery that creates
an effective word picture of
painting the various rooms.
-I like your repeating lines.
-Because you take the reader
from room to room, the
progression and flow of the poem
is very good.
-Good luck in the contest.

You are very welcome for the review and comments. It is nice to hear you liked it. You have a great week, too, and don't overdo on the painting!
Comment from Thomas Bowling
When I built homes, I built a house for a man who moved in and then decided to paint an accent strip around his dining room. The room was eggshell white. He painted the strip bright red. When I heard about it, I thought he made a mistake. When I saw it, it was perfect.
