Hi Jen. This is a good entry for the contest. Did you not want to go to school as a child. I could not wait for it because I was escaping from abuse. So I loved school. I was bullied, but I ignored it so it stopped. Was not fun for them. Good luck in the contest Thank you for sharing

Great photo with a boy who looks very depressed and sad.
I understand his concerns --you the writer. Our schools
also caused the youth to be bullied. They didn't do anything
to stop it. Our daughters were bullied. We went to the police.

Well done with this repetitious piece, writer. I think many children can relate to the fact he didn't want to go to school. I think we've all been there, poor child. The image, the presentation, the writing all meshed well and there were no errors to note. Good luck in the contest.

Very convincing poetry about a child's decision to stop going to school. Well worded, repetition lines fit in. Photo is expressive of the poem's mood.

Sad but true. This is the real reason some children don't want to attend school. If your child hates school, it may not be a drug problem. He may not be hooked. Find out what the real cause is.

This poem paints a graphic picture of a child who has learned to hate school because of how he's treated there. The refrain emphasizes his frustration (and maybe fear). The last line came as no surprise.

A well written poem that made me feel very sorry indeed for the character in it. I think this was very effective, because I could feel his desperation and his fear, which made this an excellent poem. It was so strongly written that I could imagine that child and it made me feel that I wanted to protect him. If you can write a poem that can have this effect on the reader, you have done extremely well.

Hello Anon
Very good. The 'repetition' works well as this is very much everyone's impression of how schoolkids talk - but to be honest with you, as I read the work, I thought the punchline was going to be that this was the headmaster talking!
Still, as it reads - very representative of school-talk and a good piece for the contest, in which I wish you well.
cheers

Hi Phill
Thanks a lot for your review. Your sggestion about the headmaster speaking is very good but I have already wtitten one with that punchline except it was the teacher speaking and it was humour. Cheers Jen
