And your creative imagination turned into a beautifully descriptive poem about this wonderful natural phenomenon. The science and the awe, the colours I felt like I too was sitting by the burning log, watching. Great write Craig,

This is very nice and you've described it well. I like the colors you've chosen to illustrate the aurora-borealis. I have seen it a couple of times and it's exciting and stunning. I guess awesome is the word. Yes, petty-dancers is the perfect term. Marilyn

This reminds me why seeing the Northern Lights is on my bucket list. I'll have to figure out where to go to see them the best. I like the way the font color matches the artwork.

Keep writing

Hi, Craig,

If I hadn't read your notes, I never would have known you never saw the lights. I love the concept - petty-dancers.

The hubby and I are hoping to do an Alaskan cruise in a few years - maybe I'll get to see them!

Thank you for sharing,

~patty~

A very well-written poem about the northern lights and the amazing colors that appear in dance over the plains. It is one of my favorite nature events to look at on videos.

This is marvellous, Craig. I've never seen the aurora either, but the excitement and beauty of the aurora of your imagination must be fairly close to the real thing, I reckon.

Great use of metre and rhyme and wonderful imagery.

Thanks for the stellar rating and the lovely comments, Robbie. I believe that the view from Tassie can be pretty awesome. I've been there a couple of times, but not seen the aurora. Perhaps it was the wrong time of year, or I was too close to the bright lights (or maybe I just didn't think to look!) Either way, that's probably a more viable option for me than somewhere near the Arctic circle, but one can dream!

I like the flavour of this one, Craig. It has definite tones in metre to that famous Robert Service poem.

Great imagery and I've seen the Northern Lights many times and they are magnificent.

Terrific poem. :)

Thanks so much, Gloria. I will have to show my ignorance by asking, "Which one?" I'm lucky enough to have a volume of Robert Service's poems, which was sent to me by a friend in Alaska; but I have barely glanced at it (an oversight I must correct). I'm envious of your proximity to those dazzling light shows... one day... Most grateful for the lovely stars and comments -- Craig

This poem calls to mind an adventure that has not been taken before. Your images and language are lush and paint vivid landscapes of trip I'd love to take one day.

I loved this one Craig. You painted a picture with your words. I love the aurora too. Very entertains and creative. I mean it. This is one of your best. So I gave you six stars. Ever seen igloos under an aurora borealis? Something to behold. Thank you for sharing
