I think many have had one of these potmeal, liquid lunches, and later wished they hadn't. Greatlittle limerick using this word that actually is spelt as it is. Good one Craig,
cheers,
valda

Oh dear, and I just posted another "drinking" poem. Please don't call AA, Valda - I swear, I don't get to pick the words lol
Many thanks,
Craig

Hey, Craig,
I read through this limerick examining the wisdom of heavy drinking over substance for nourishment. (this can actually extend into anything requiring moderation in life)
Strong limerick beat and rhyme... I liked the feel/ Ideal inner rhyme and thought it was placed in a good spot to work with the echo of the original feel, with a little crossover that tied the two feels together.
Though... if you don't want to have the little echo... (which I didn't mind) you might be able to use keel, too?
now I might as well keel?

This limerick, Liquid Lunch, has a good beat and provides some hard won wisdom about drinking too much of the suds on an empty tummy.

This is a very well written limerick you have penned. Your words fit well with the art work you chose. I can see why there would be a messed up stomach if that were for lunch! Very cute. Blessings, Teri

Thanks for the kind words, Teri. In case you were wondering, no, that is never my lunch. On the extremely rare occasion I find myself in a pub for lunch, I'll have a good portion of food with my beer lol
Cheers, Craig
Comment from Ulla
Oh dear,Craig. This is not so good. To have a potmeal and no food. No, a liquid lunch is never good at the best of times. But haven't we all tried it one time or the other? It's funny, potmeal sound quite the opposite, as something very solid. But there you go. All best. Ulla:))

It does, doesn't it? I think "pot" is an old word for a large beer glass, which might still be in use in some parts today. Many thanks, Ulla.

Ha! Truly sublime. "Potmeal" is a fantastic word - I love the legitimacy it gives the age-old pastime of day-drinking! Great limerick - thanks for putting a smile on my face!

I love your limirick and your well chosen artwork. I thought when I read it that it meant pot noodle but obviously not. Good word though.
Have a nice day. Jen.

Mr. Richards, I'm glad you wrote in limerick form as I was in need of a cheerful thought, a good giggle.
I'd never heard the word before either, bet I won't forget it now.

Comment from Gloria ....
Well I know from good authority that you don't partake of the spirits so this is fiction, and that is the sign of a great Limerick. Did I ever tell you the Irish are full of the blarney? Excellent and to form, Craig and a really fun word today. Or yesterday or whatever day it is over there. Love it!

Oh, I do partake, Gloria. I just don't do it to the point of making myself ill or incoherent (regarding the latter, I'm already there!)
Do you have Irish blood, Gloria? I sometimes wish I did. Many thanks for a great review :) Craig
Comment from Mustang Patty
Hi, Craig,
I can't imagine being able to do this. Good beer lies so heavy in your stomach! Why waste a good buzz at work in the afternoon?
Thank you for sharing this new word with me,

Thanks very much, Patty. I'm not really much of a drinker. For some reason, I just end up writing a lot of poems about it. Cheers, Craig
