Here's another poem I remember reading, and yet, after I read this again, I couldn't think of anything productive to mention other than: Yep, I liked this poem. I think that's one of my biggest hangup I had reviewing this year, that I don't like not having two complete thoughts to rub together to offer.
This poem, I'm letting you know, I read and thought: : )
Other things I thought:
I liked the Cardin... because I can, slight inner rhyme,
The hoity toity sense of hoochie coochie,
The clue that the swagger and smooth was over the top, leading to a person who might think they are it, but everyone else not-so-much
And in the end, the poem did well to capture that mammamoochie tone.
Solid presentation that all worked together into a flash image.

Thanks so much once again. I think most of us know one or two people who fit this mold. It can be fun just to observe. Of course, it's a bit contradictory if we get too smug about it :) Muchas gracias, Craig

Great picture, I thought for a minute the poem would be about someone who dug through a movie star's garbage. Lol. My husband is a plumbing contractor in Malibu and occasionally brings home discarded items from a very rich person's discard pile (or trash can). He is very into recycle/reuse, my husband!

As they say, one person's trash is another's treasure :) I'm big into recycling/reuse too.
A bit of a digression, but I love to tell the story of a friend of mine who had a wardrobe they no longer needed. It was in good condition, so they put it on the nature strip in front of their house, with a sign that read "Free - please take". A week later, it was still there, so she wrote a new sign... "For sale - $50". You guessed it - it was gone the next morning when she got up :)
Cheers,
Craig

That's so funny - those scoundrels only wanted it once they thought it was worth something, and then they stole it. Ha ha! Congratulating themselves all the way home (eye roll).

Love this. I think I know lots of mamamouchis. Your poem is humorous and flows right alone at a good pace. Great word choices, throughout. Marilyn

Hi Craig, that is certainly a most unusual word. So the ladies liked him. Hmm. He thought he was better than all the rest of them. Wonderful poem and word for that matter. All best. Ulla:)))

LOL ... I love this word, Craig! 'Mamamouchi' :)
Your poem delightfully conveys the meaning of the word, and I love the rhyming in this poem -- Gucci/hoochie-coochie/smoochy/mamamouchi. This is well presented and fun to read.
Thanks for teaching me another new word.
Cheers,
Connie

Hi Craig. A ring lower on the ladder than a
Megalomaniac. My brother is schizophrenic as well as bi polar. Poor guy. I remember him saying that people on the bus were envious of him. He could tell from the way they looked at him. Well done on the meter and rhyme. Thank you for sharing

That must be awful for him, and difficult for those close to him, Pam. I'm sorry to hear it. Thanks for reviewing :) Craig

Hmm. Mamamouchi reminds me of certain politicians. And it also reminds me of the sound of "scaramouche" - the clown character in an Italian play. (and like someone who was briefly in politics.)

Ok. This one takes the prize for weird rhymes. Mamamouchi, Gucci, smoochy, and hoochie-coochie.That's never been done I am sure. Any three would have been downright amazing.
This piece was a fun read.

LOL It does sound a bit like baby-talk doesn't it? The hide of one reviewer to describe my rhymes as "juvenile"! ;-)
Many thanks for the lovely comments, Debbie. Cheers, Craig

You missed a rhyme with the baby talk. That would be goochi goochi goochi.
Comment from Gloria ....
This is fantastic, Craig. It's a word that has that certain pizazz and the rhymes are like the tango. It's bouncy and fun and to the point to those haughty folks who mistakenly believe themselves to be more important than they really are.
Much enjoyed.

Thanks so much, Gloria. It was fun to write. I like poking fun at people who are superior and smug... so I can feel superior and smug ;-)

This is a good use of the word, Craig. The context of the lines before it help define it even ifen no notes had be included. Well, he sure thinks highly of himself, right? It's one thing to have pride, but this guy is above that. Thanks for sharing. Jan
