500? I'll Win!
Sit ye down, Sir, deal the cards -
cards to show who's in command.
Command me not, ye bard of bards!
Just deal me one fantastic hand.
:)) (Best of luck in the contest with your fun poem, Craig. Okay, so mine's not a loop - so what? Hahahahaha! It's 15 reviews anyway. *smile*)

Why thank you for completing the set for me, Dawn. Muchas Gracias! (And you thought I was an ignorant bum who knew no German).

Hi Graig, this is a great loop. Not a strange word around this one. I liked it and yes, know the game of 500. I may try my hand at a loop poem as well. Good luck in the contest. All the best. Ulla:))

Many thanks, Ulla, and I wish you success if you should try one. You've still got a couple of days, if you wanted to enter it into the contest :)

Each loop word works in beautifully Craig in this card game.
My you are doing well writing an extra poem without your word for the day.
great job,
cheers

Thanks so much for the lovely comments, Valda. I appreciate the encouragement :)
Comment from Gloria ....
Super good job with this loop poem, Craig. You managed to get in all the tricks without even playing a dummy hand. This is a kinda book of poems everyone would love to get at Christmas, Yes?
Great job and best of luck to you with the Contest Committee.

Hi Gloria,
Thanks for the lovely comments. Do you mean my collection of poems in my FS book here? This one isn't actually one of them, as it doesn't contain a weird word from my reference (just a couple of my own weird ones, maybe).
If I thought I could find maybe 50 publishable ones out of the 265 I've done so far for the book, I guess I could try and put together something by Christmas (after all, that is the time maybe something like that would sell). 365 seems like a lot of poems for one book, and it would have to wait a year for the next Christmas to roll around. Then again, maybe they're not that good. I've had some nice comments, but one never knows if people are just being nice.
Anyway, thanks again for the lovely review.

HAHA HA - you know what, I didn't even realize this was a loop poem, I was that focused on your card game, lol. This is the best one I've ever read, I can honestly say. Isn't it funny how words like slump, dump and frump all rhyme with Trump? Well done, you should win this one,
Carol

I doubt it, Carol. I'm sure there'll be some Trump supporters in the judging mix, with whom I'm sure it won't go down well lol. But I had fun with it, and I really do appreciate your wonderful compliment. Craig

Oh, you're getting so clever with your political commentary, hidden in this well done loop poem entirely in dialogue. There are only a few card games that I play and "trump" is not in any of them so I can only read the political message. Lol.

It's 500, Helen, which is quite similar to euchre. Many thanks :) Craig

Hi Craig. This looks like a good entry for the contest. You wrote this so skillfully that while I was reading it, I did not realize that I was reading a loop poem. Usually it sticks out like a sore thumb. So good job on that. I detected your joke on trump. Of course jokers are never trump or even cards in bridge. But I got that too. Joke but so frightening. He is trying to become a dictator. He and Fox News have brainwashed a third of our country in a very dangerous way. One of his supporters planned to go to the offices of the Boston Globe and shoot everyone in the head. He quoted trump by saying the media was the enemy of the people. The autocracy playbook. Good luck in the contest. Thank you for sharing

Thanks for the lovely comment, Pam. If it's not too obvious it's a loop poem, that is exactly what I was after. Yes, it's scary times in your country. Heck, it's scary times for the world. It will pass, I hope. Cheers, Craig

I'm out of six stars, and this one deserves it. I am predicting a winner here. My fingers are crossed for you. I am working on my first loop poem, but I can't get the hang of it. What you just did was hard.

Well, I doubt it, Debbie. I'm sure there will be some judging it who will take offence. But then again, you've been right before on that score before, and I was wrong lol I really appreciate the lovely comments. I hope you get one done for the contest :) Cheers, Craig

Surely the judges will think your trump clever. As to mine, not done yet. I can't make myself look at it.

LOL!
Very sly. I love this and your use of this poem for the Loop contest was inspired. I didn't even realize it was a Loop poem until I got to the bottom of the page. (To me, that is a sign of a GREAT job.)
Good luck in the contest,
~MP~

I don't think it's got a snowflake's chance in hell in the contest, because of the subject, but it was lots of fun to write, and I knew it would make some people smile. Thanks so much, Patty. :)

A very well-written Loop, Craig -- love it!! The way you masterfully wrote this, one might not even know it was a loop - great job - it should do well in the contest! :) :)
Thanx for sharing, as always! :)
