Hi Craig. I'm late with my review, but I'so busy with my family's visit from Denmark. My daughter, son-in law and my two granddaughters. They do take up most of my time. I find an hour here or there to do a review or two. I loved your poem, and I agree. The is a wonderful one having more than one meaning. All the best. Ulla:))

Many thanks for taking the time to review, Ulla. Even though you're pressed for time. How wonderful to have your family staying with you though. Thanks for the great comments, much appreciated. Craig

How do I comment on this lovely poem without saying what I've said SO many times before... Hmm... I have to fill this box, and I even understand why it's a requirement... (Shame that it is though...) Oh there! I filled it without saying a thing I've said before! (*stoopid grin*)
You know... !!!

LOL...
I like your picture,
it's so sweet!
But Craig, I also
like my meat.

I'm pleading, please!
No Porky Pig --
now flowers?
I could give a fig...

Your poem is really super duper,
(but I an in a stinking stupor.)
Landlord's cleaning hallway carpets.
Smells like California's tar pits.
LOL. Not really, of course, but man, the perfumed air is thick whenever they clean! Almost as bad for people with allergies as pothead's pollution (my downstairs neighbor). LOL

Nice one Craig and I love the way you've compared nature's garden to your own creative garden a perfect pairing for today's word.
Good luck with your own anthology,
cheers,
valda

Congratulations on publishing your book of poems, Craig. This poem is a gem, worded and rhymed well. I DO like the new word for today. 'Polyanthea' is a great way to describe your garden of poems. Marilyn

Hi, Craig,
Your garden sounds lovely. I've thought about gardening, and then I started to write on a more serious note. So, while I manage to get some time outside with my pups, I haven't the patience to plant and weed. Maybe when my knees are replaced.
Thank you for sharing this lovely word.

Thanks for the delightful comments, Patty. Yes, gardening can be hell on the old knees. Hopefully it will be easier one day. Cheers, Craig

Hello Craig,
Not only do I appreciate your well-crafted verse, but I also appreciate your Author's Notes where you write, "My scribblings may not mean much to anyone but myself, but to me, they are very much like a garden, on a number of levels."
Those words - as the words in your poem - deeply resonate with me, and that is the beauty of your poetry... On a side note, I am an avid gardener. But nothing in my acre garden is structured; it is all wild and wooly...much like my writing.
I have so enjoyed the poems you have created with your "linguistic curiosities." Delightful.
Thank you for sharing...and keep writing!

"Wild and woolly" is the perfect description of what we jokingly refer to here as a "garden", Diane. I'm afraid we don't spend anywhere near enough time on it. There always seem to be fences to fix, holes to fill in, sick or injured animals to tend to, or whatever. I really appreciate the most generous and delightful comments. Craig

A very well-written poem. It is impossible to please all other people and if we write to please others we can just as well give up. As long as you enjoy what you do, do it when it is not a joy anymore rather stop.

I think that sounds like a very good plan, Sandra. Thanks so much -- Craig
Comment from Gloria ....
Well and how appropriate to conclude this lovely sonnet with a little of the Bard himself. One of my favourites too.
I've always loved the garden as a metaphor for many things and for your literary collection it is grand. Congratulations to you for a well-tended garden.
A most enjoyable poem. :)

Thanks so much for the lovely comments, Gloria. He really was a very clever cookie. Far more than a lot of cynics give him credit for. Most grateful, Craig

So much to enjoy here! The turn from sweet garden analogies to an "I don't care want you think, I am quite accomplished at analogy production," then wrapping it up with one of the most famous analogy references of all!

Thanks so much, Linda, for the wonderful review, and the delightful, shiny stars. I'm glad you picked up on what I was going for. If I can't produce them (analogies), I'll steal them! ;-) Most grateful, Craig

Eloquently put. The image fits with the piece well and your rhyme flows beautifully. Very nicely done. The world is full of so much beauty it's to bad more people don't appreciate it.
