Hmmm.
So, you got five aces just because? LOL! I like using the word, 'leggism' for cheating. It has a kinder sound, but it truly describes the act of thievery - running little cheater!!
Thanks for sharing,

"I knew he was cheating when he used his fifth ace to trump my Eleven of Spades, Your Honour!"
Many thanks for the fun review, Patty.

Lol. Hmmm. I'm no card shark but five aces shouldn't be possible. Although, there are some games with multiple card decks. Good rhymes and assonance (scooped, pool and thanks, hand).

Thanks so much, Helen. Much appreciated -- Craig

Excellent. Even I, not a card player, got this one. I know there are only four aces to a deck. I guess the term "one-leg up" comes from your new word of the day, "leggism." Marilyn

Thanks very much, Marilyn. I'm not sure about the origin of that phrase. Cheers, Craig

Hi Craig, an interesting word that as my first inclination would have been that somebody was legging it. But of course it would have a different meaning all together. Learning all the time. All best. Ulla:)))

This single quatrain, The Hustle, is funny in its ironic message from the speaker that his/her ability is not from cheating, although it's proven to be. That's a lot of aces.

One too many for my liking. Thanks, Bill -- Craig

A very well-written four-line poem about the cheaters at a car game. I never like to play with cheaters, they think others are stupid and won't notice their cheating ways.

I enjoyed your poem, Craig. Good job with the description of the word. Your image choice is perfect. I believe many a hustler met his doom when he tried scooping the pool after playing this cheatin' hand. Good job and thanks for sharing. Jan

I knew that I could not trust your introductory descriptive line. You are not to be trusted any more than one who commits leggism. As you can tell, I enjoy using your new words. I enjoy confusing my computer. This time, it chose an antonym "legalism" to switch my good word with.
Having fun this morning.

Awwww, are you saying I tell pork pies? Even worse, that my poem is not deep and meaningful?! Well, I never!
Many thanks, Debbie :)

Comment from Gloria ....
Well that word meant something entirely different than I thought it would. Hey I had six aces once and several times I've had 39 in Cribbage. :)
A most fun poem, Craig and leggism it is then. :)

I'm not a huge fan of cribbage. Unless you mean bok choy, that stuff's delicious. Not really big on brussel sprouts, either.
Many thanks for the fun review, Gloria :)
