You may be crusty by, but definitely not a barbarian, if you can use all these long words and still be understood. It is strange how far some politicians and other groups will go to be different or deceptive.

Keep writing

Happy Holidays.

From one "crusty contrarian" to another ... have those "geoplanarians" never seen pictures from outer space showing that Earth is round? :) I had to laugh at your fun limerick, Craig. It reminded me of a woman that we met and talked to a couple of years ago while vacationing in Mexico. She was convinced that the Earth was flat. I couldn't help but wonder how many Agavero shots she'd had.

This is a fun Limerick poem, and a great addition to your Fake News! Great job!

Cheers,
Connie

A very well-written Limerick about flat earth vs round earth. In the bible it talks of the earth standing on pillars and hanging on nothing from the heavens and that we are protected with a dome. In school we learn the earth is round like a ball, rotate on its own axis, an ozone layer to protect us from space debris. If I could fly, I would go check it out myself, because everything seems to be fake news.

Thanks very much, Sandra. I think you're fairly safe to go with established opinion here; it's pretty hard to fake the Earth's shadow on the moon :) Cheers, Craig

Hi, Craig.

Got to read through your poem this morning, and thought it nicely done. The crusty contrarian was amusing and had great alliteration.

The rhyming and limerick pace flowed really nice in my ears, and the last line gives for a satisfying punch-line conclusion that makes the limerick form an appealing, snappy read. Lots of stings through the lines... all supporting the initial pov 'crusty contrarian' assertion.

It's enough to make a person a bit 'groan', to have had to listen to years of squabble about a birth certificate only to follow up that president with ...

I do tend to get that same, hollow in the head disbelief about there really being people seriously thinking the earth is flat.

Oh, it must be flat, Turtle. Otherwise, why would they have had to fake the moon landings? ;-)

Many thanks for your thoughtful review. I appreciate the time you spend on each one, very much.

Ha ha, my snigger for the day. Great fun, pretty accurate I'd say, and another amazing word. I do like a good limerick. Cheers for the smiles. I'm sure you'll offend the birthers who aren't flat earthers, lol.

Is that a billboard for the Corsi book? How strange. Even stranger, the possibility that there are still geoplanarians. I never thought about it, but some strict, strict, strict Bible belt religious sects might believe it based solely on the Bible's reference to the four corners of the earth.

All that is neither here nor there. You have written about two outstanding examples of fake news. Fake news has been going on a long time, huh. And people believe it if it is in a book.

This was an interesting one, Craig. Made me think.

I'm not sure if the billboard is associated with the book or not, Debbie. You're quite right... people (correctly) scoff at the idea of, "It must be true, I saw it on the internet", and yet before that, we had the "wisdom" that it was true if we read it in a book :)

Thanks for the thoughtful comments, once again.

Yes and wasn't that just about the most barbaric lie? And now we learn it was none other than Jerome Corsi, a man who has become very wealthy telling lies who started this outrageous and slanderous theory.

That said, you mean the Earth isn't flat?! It looks flat to me. ;-)

Superb Limerick and a great addition to your fake news compendium.

    Thanks so much, Gloria.

Of course the Earth isn't flat. It's actually a giant manta-ray. What else explains Earthquakes, other than the "wings" of this massive creature undulating as it swims through the cosmos?

Perhaps I should give up LSD with breakfast :)

There are many fake stories circling the web but there are truly well documented videos that gave credence to their allegations. It is not entirely wrong to listen and learn from principalities and dark forces surrounding many Christians seeking to lure them away from their faith. In this way Christians are better prepared to confront them.

I'm not sure what the Christian religion has to do with a poem about lies made up to discredit the former President; but in any case, thank you for reviewing :) Cheers, Craig

Great job with this unique word. It serves as a metaphor for the ignorance of today. Witty wording, especially the alliterated crusty contrarian. LOL

Clever rhymes, especially (and note one spag):

For I think most "birthers"

are likely flat-e(E)arthers,

Perfect closing note:

such lies are completely barbarian.

Bravo

Warmly, rd

Lol. I don't think you're contrarian at all. I think the people who came up with the birther controversy are contrarians. But geoplanarians are just weird. I'm guessing they don't get out much.
