The death of any one of us lessens the sum of us by more than one. Of course we mourn the loss of life, the absence of their voice, their essence. We can only reflect upon the work they left behind and imagine what they might have written next. Rest in total peace oh treasured one.

She was a free spirit it seemed.

How lovely that you posted this tribute to Gungalo. The members who have passed on are not forgotten. It is so sad when a life is taken from us too soon, as hers was. Well worded and heart-felt. I'm glad you thought to do this. judi

Many of us will never forget Gungalo. (Sigh)She was a VIP when I joined in 2011. So many of our excellent poets have died or just quit writing in the past few years. Gone but not forgotten thanks to FS. No we won't forget Pam. Good job, Bill. Nancy:

Pam was one of the very first members here that took me under her wing and really helped me become the poet I am today.
I'd never written a poem before, other than mushy love poems for my wife occasionally.
I used to bellyache to her whenever she would review my short stories, "Dammit, Pam! People here seem to read more poetry than they do stories. Why--that's just so ridiculous!?!"
To which she replied, "Now, Dean. Who says you can't write dark poetry?"
The rest, as they say, is history...
RIP, dearest Gungalo...

Most people had never met her. I found this pic searching other poetry sites.

I can't believe it was four years ago. I still read her poems, and when I look back at some of my older poems and see her name on a review, it gives me goosebumps. We won't forget her, Bill. :) Sandra xx

Amen to that.

I'm not sure who Alex Gunko, or Gungalo is. She must have been very important to you. I'm sorry for your loss. This must have been hard to write. Thank you for sharing.

If you go to Gungalo on this site, they have her page memorialized.

Bill,
OMS. I knew Gungalo had left FanStory... but I did NOT know it was because she died. I thought it was simply like so many of who come and go, flit in and out, you know? Now, I'm sad. But I'm happy to know the truth. THANK YOU!

She was a fun person with wit and a bit of a naughty streak.
