A good interpretation of the journey through life, Craig, the ups and downs of the rollercoaster, and the inevitable end for us all. Love the photo,
cheers,

This poem, The Last Laugh, is a positive piece that stresses the idea that time is finite and we need to assure ourselves that we are using it all up well.

Hi, Craig,
It really isn't about the destination for you - its all about the journey. Actually, I think it should be that way - if you live your life for 'someday,' you will find it never comes.
Thank you for sharing - you are at the tail-end of your challenge. And, you have done wonderfully,

Hi Craig, yes, let's make the most of our journey through life as we only have the one. Something I've been living up to all my life. Periplus. A great word with a great concept. All best. Ulla:))

LOL Many thanks, Yvette. I think the best way to approach our own mortality is with a touch of humour. Cheers, Craig

A wonderful poem, Craig. We are dying from the day we're conceived. The entire value is in the way we handle the mission assigned to us ~ as 'periplus' defines the journey itself.

What a beautiful Golden Retriever! He looks like he's enjoying his 'periplus'. It's true, none of us will survive this journey, and we don't know what (if anything) comes hereafter; so yes, we'd best make the best of life while we can.
Another fine addition to your book, Craig! You are making us all soOOO very smart in learning all of these new words.
Cheers,
Connie

Thanks so much for the wonderful remarks, Connie. When I saw that picture, I thought he expressed the idea better than any human picture I could find. I dare say he's probably better at it than most of us. Most grateful, Craig

A very well-written poem about our lives that are only going in one direction, so for our own good will, we should make the best of each day, be happy, and glad for what we have and enjoy everything while it lasts.

Comment from Gloria ....
Well that's one fine looking pup. I think your poems would make a nice 365 calendar thinger. I'm always looking for those kind of ideas, as I spect most people do in one way or another.
Couldn't agree more with your philosophy.
A fun read and most enjoyed. :)

Craig... you are choosing some great words for these mid-December writes. Your comparison of a grand adventure to living life is spot on and a perfect choice to use to teach us this new word. Thank you.

Thanks so much, Melissa, for the lovely comments. I don't have any choice really. The book is a bit like a desk calendar, one with those pithy sayings. It dictates the word of the day, every day :)
