Craig, This is a very cute poem you have penned about gluttony. I am blessed because this year we spend Christmas in PA with Tom's family. They do not eat southern food. It's not as hard on the waistline! You used very good descriptive words and very cute imagery from the art work. Blessings, Teri

Comment from Gloria ....
Geeze Craig, love your selfie! It's amazing what a little photoshop can do to dress up a picture.
The whole trick is to just throw the belts away and use suspenders instead, dontcha know?
Excellent post. :)

I tried suspenders, Gloria, but they kept tearing holes in the tops of my stockings.
Thanks for the fun review :)

Your concise poem tells the TRUTH for so many--me included.
At least, I've stopped lying to myself; I used to promise myself
I would NOT overeat during the holidays.

I've never made the mistake of promising myself I wouldn't.... I know myself better than that lol
Many thanks for the great review,
Craig

Two days of cookie making, and by the end of today they will all be gone. I feel like I'll need a Yule cavern, not just a hole.
I appreciated this poem, reading it on the ride to Christmas breakfast, that will lead to an early dinner, with all the festive sharing of treats showing love by stuffing people with goodies.
Nice job with the pace, rhyme, and flow... also strong humor at the end, I thought the turn of phrase worked to keep the rhyme, tone and cheeky play on words.
I'm off to stuff my pie hole to then make use of my Yule hole. ; )

Now you made this word up, right? Mr. Paul Anthony Jones did not have yule-hole in his book now did he?
It is actually my favorite word yet. I will remember this one with no trouble. And I love your art work. How perfect--except it has no yule-hole because it has no belt buckle.
You have a wonderful holiday. Mine is just starting. My son arrives at midnight tonight. Festivities for a week. We will need extra yule holes by this time next week.

A very well-written poem about gluttony. When it is Christmas time we tend to eat more of the well prepared tasty foods on the table as what we usually do leading to a feeling of over eating and our clothes seem to shrink.

Craig, too funny.... only you would find a word about moving the belt buckle over a notch.... such a perfect word for today...Thanks for once again giving us a new and mostly unused word to ponder.
Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas (belatedly) to you too, Melissa -- although I have a feeling I might have wished it for you earlier. In any case, I hope you had a great day, and enjoy the rest of the festive season.
Cheers,
Craig

I know just what you mean, being in a similar situation myself just at present. The pavlova just about finished me off!
Suggest 'than' rather than 'that' in the last line.

Ha ha ha --twice the man...good pun on the phrase. I ate cheese and cookies tonight at a X-mas gathering to chant for world peace. Tummy troubles now, keeping me up...
So this really made me chuckle.
Well write...rhyme and flow. Fine phonics too. Cute presentation.
Happy Holy DAZE!
