Congratulations on this stellar achievement!
I especially like the play on words in the last line. That is a very clever poetic element.

No wonder your delightful haiku won the contest. You have given us a beautiful presentation, visually with colour and picture choice, and the verbal skill is linked through scent and location.

Ah, like that ending with the "A Roma Therapy" cleverness, on your part! Seattle area has a lavender festival out to the coast. Bought several there few years back. My yard is covered with several different varieties. Especially like the alba's which only discovered when I went! Congrats!

Thank you John for your thoughtful encouraging review. I appreciate your kind comments. I think I read somewhere that the Pacific northwest is a perfect place to grow lavender. I grows here in NC but is not prolific.

Clever play on words in the satori line. The poem invokes the scent as well as the beautiful appearance of the lavender fields.

This is a very fun play on words. Well done. I love lavender, it is a mild scent which I like, Unlike the Magnolia which I don't like at all. I do hope you do well in the contest. Rox

Hello Janet,
This haiku should be very competitive in the contest.
You have all of the elements of a fine haiku:
imagery, connection, present tense, and intriguing satori line.
The picture matches well, but I always cover the picture
when considering haiku. Your stands up well by itself.
Best wishes to you.
