Loved the Day-Tripper song, how very appropriate for Kayla, thinking she is fooling Charles, but he's starting to figure her out, and perhaps her role in this saga. Interesting times for Charles and an interesting chapter Tony.
cheers,
valda

I couldn't resist the Beatles song for this one - it seemed so appropriate. My vintage, too! LOL All the best, Tony

-A good chapter, Tony,
that fills us in with a
few details about Kayla.
-Good descriptive detail
about how Andre was captured.
-You also characterize Kayla well.
-She is distraught, but Charles
is fishing for some information
about who might have been
following her.
-She doesn't have a lot of information,
disappears from the room for a while,
and comes back in a vibrant mood.
-Good foreshadowing of the ending,
and what Kayla's involvement in
the plot might be in the near future.
-There is obviously a connection
that Charles will act on in some way-
a regular James Bond, he is!

Thanks, Pam. I'm beginning to get a feel for the shape of the last few chapters and an ending scenario. Thanks for your comments about this chapter and its place in the wider scheme of things. Best wishes, Tony.

What a fantastic chapter. There is so much going on in Charles' life. So many characters that behave in a questionable manner. I hope he's able to get all the answers he needs.

Hello Tony,
I was wondering when drugs would enter into the events of these characters. After all, Bellini was a dealer, Durant an undercover drug agent,
and the Bankok-Pakistani connection with a desperate young Kayla
suggests an addiction.
Kayla can now be a victim or a player in this intrigue.
(Clever title for the chapter!)

"Perhaps an actor at more than one level. And what about Kayla? If she's acting, then she's doing a mighty fine job of it." Excellent lines here that increase the mystery nicely.

Of course, this all leads back to the central plot of Terrorism.
The two sides of the clever Scaramouche may prove interesting.

Well done.
Robert

Very many thanks for your review of Day Tripper, Robert, and for your six star award. Yes, drug addiction was almost bound to feature at some stage, given the plot. It will be interesting to see how this affects Kayla's relationships with other characters such as Charles and Helen. Best wishes, Tony

Uh, oh... Tony, this is a story I should have followed from the start of it. I am completely at a loss as far as plot is concerned, but sir, you sure can write! Even not having a clue as to what is happening in the story, one chapter (scene) is so easy to visualize, it's like watching a movie-- and of course, it's flawlessly written as well. Kayla's actions were so bizarre, yet so perfect -- exactly the kind of reaction one would expect.

This was a step up from recent chapters, and you managed to really create an intriguing scene where we see Charles carefully digging into the mystery of Kayla's dealings, her associations, while at the same time failing to subdue his attraction for her on a physical level. The sharp descriptions and the realistic dialogue went a long way to construct this feeling of apprehension and arousal, of Charles' suspicion and Kayla's madcap, almost careless emotional display. And then we have those suspicions confirmed; the trace of white powder, the cocaine that attaches Kayla to the drug dealing terrorists. I liked the tension hanging in the air of this segment, the almost sinister quality of the hidden dangers in this beautiful woman. estory

Wow, what a twist and a Beatles song, too. I enjoyed this so much. I could vividly imagine Charles dancing with Kayla. The "steady on girl" comment was just too much. She was anything but steady. Obvious, poor Kayla has fallen in with bad company. Looking forward to the next one, Tony.
All my best,
Sally :+)

Cheers, Tony;
>{"Perhaps an actor at more than one level. And what about Kayla? If she's acting, then she's doing a mighty fine job of it."} More like an Oscar-winning performance!
> Oh no, Kayla's hooked on an artificial white wind's of happiness that just seemed to blow up her nose.
>This definitely makes me understand why and how Charles is coming to the conclusion that there is more than just espionage and terrorism.
I wonder Charles thinks that if Jeanne is being absorbed into the up-your-noes fantasies, like Kayla.
> Good proven transition between thought processes of Charles and Kayla I like how you woven those in.
>You, Just keep making it keep on making this story more interesting after every installment.
>Thanks for sharing Tony and take care and have a good one.

So at least one thing is starting to make a bit of sense to your lead character. I didn't find any typos or spags but just enjoyed a thoroughly good read. Have a great evening. Judy
