I like the subject you chose for this antonym contest.
Children that have already known hardships at such a tender age .. it's really heart breaking.
There are hundreds and thousands of children ..war victims ..who will never know the feel of growing up in a safe and loving environment.

Your poem has an Oliver Twist happy ending. I wonder how many OLDER children are adopted these days and find happy homes where they are wanted. Good choice of antonyms to bookend your poem. Rod
