I loved this creative write about the cowboy hero versus the unknown cowboy, and how special and endearing the unknown cowboy is, being a hero in his own right. What a man. Sexy, warm, strong yet gentle, and maybe a little stinky :)
Great job and a great contest entry! Very best wishes :)

I enjoyed this which rang as very sincere and heart-felt. Your poem also had a rhythmic flow to it with good rhyming. Thanks for sharing and good luck in the contest.

A lovely tribute to you unnamed friend. I enjoyed the rhyme and rhythm of this poem. It flowed and read so smoothly. I must confess a fondness for traditional poetry and this met that criteria. Well done.

A very well-written poem about a cowgirl and cowboy who spent a lifetime together. Unfortunately, the cowboy was called home and left his gI'll behind.
I thought for a moment it might be the girl herself honoring her cowboy. I think she will really like your take.

Yes, you're writing about the Louis L'Amour taciturn, yet noble cowpoke. A knight in scraped chaps with a soft spot for mustangs and curs. Every man is a friend, every woman a ma'am.
Best of luck.
Peace, Lee

Never was a Louis L'Amour fan (definitely not my 'genre', shall we say) so I'll take your word for it... Thank you, Lee, for your review. :-)

This cowgirl lives in daydreaming of her own lovable romantic cowboy hero cum friend who will be more than a cowboy, stout, healthy, gentleman with youthful vigour; well said, well done. Write to inspire, change -- DR ALCREATOR

I enjoyed your poem about your favourite cowboy, it describes the type of man you'd be looking for if cowboys were your scene. I think I prefer Kouros. PM

Exceptional. Now this is my kind of poem. Except for my 30 year profession as a cop, I was a cowboy all my life. I'm 81 now so I put away
my spurs and saddle. I've done about everything one can do on a horse.
I sold my last two horses a year ago. I raised them both, brother and sister. I would be telling a lie if I said I didn't cry, when I watched them load up and leave. Very good western poem. Made my day.

Wow! ;) What a lovely surprise, Willie -- you've just made this country girl's week! ;) :) First, thanx for 30 years of service -- don't have a clue where you're from, but wherever it is, you were something special to a whole lotta people .... so, thank you! :)
And I cannot imagine the feelings of letting your horses go -- hell, I cried just leaving for college knowing I wouldn't be back there since my folks moved my first semester to another state.... we never owned horses, but we lived out in the sticks and my neighbors and friends had them so, I spent lots of time around/on them. :) :) Finally back out in the country now.... but I do so look forward to moving to a more isolated place in a few years... I miss the sticks, I guess!! :) ;) LOL!
Again, thank you for your wonderful review and those lovely stars -- I look forward to be able to sign my name when the contest is over... be sure to check back then!! ;) :) Take good care of yourself 'til then, cowboy, and have a wonderful upcoming weekend! :) ;)

A raw and down to earth write about how you like your cowboys served, with grit and goodness, rough and ready, honest and deserving, without the frills, I enjoyed your words here about the real cowboys, love Dolly x
