LOL LisaMay,
You crack me up - I don't know how many needlework puns you managed to slip into this piece but it was seamless (da dum!)
Really enjoyable and entertaining, you made me laugh and that's exactly what I needed on this grey and miserable afternoon!
Best wishes as always, Debra :)

Sorry this is a late reply... I am on vacation and stealing. a few minutes to catch up with replies. I'm glad I could brighten your day.
I did start to count those needlework references and there are at least 60, which shocked me because I hate sewing!

This is so unique and creative! I love how you substituted words throughout the story with a seamstress' vocabulary! And funny too! This is pure magic! It is truly an accomplished piece to be proud of! Well done!

Very welcome!!

Wow! and I thought that words were just for writing a compete sentence, LisaMay. I was on my dictionary exploring the depth of your usage. You asked why my reviews are poetic--well woman because your writing upstages the writers of Fanstory. You are good and should be writing books for us to laugh, to ponder as well as to treasure. I just try to make you smile. :)

A brilliant write and I was determined to hold onto my last 3 sixes but alas you wrote this piece and I feel compelled to give you six stitches! Love Dolly x

I feel very gratified that you loosened your hold on a 6 rating for me!

Lol. I think I got most of your marvelous wordplay but I wouldn't be surprised if I missed some because there "seams" to be a tailored pun in at least every line. Thanks for the fun!

Thanks for reviewing. I lost track after about 60 references... and am not even someone who likes sewing!

What a twisted yarn indeed. this was great - some of these words I'd never even heard before - read well and full of funny lines and uses of words. Thanks for going off the rails and looping us in.

Glad you enjoyed this piece of silliness, Gail. Thanks for reviewing it.

I am in awe and total amazement as to how cleverly you created this humorous 'yarn'. Excellent, excellent, excellent!
I really enjoyed how you slightly shifted law enforcement terminology using seamstress terms.
This is definitely a 6-star creation :)

Thank you for your appreciation! And I am not even someone who enjoys sewing... I just get in a tangle unless it is a straight line, such as making curtains.

LOL :))
I needed to laugh. Thank you!

What a fun little story you knitted together, LisaMay. I was trying not to burst the seams as I read it. The references (puns) to sewing/needlework are great. I understood every one of them. You could have a part 2 by creating a fabric that looms large in the minds of all. Thanks for sharing. Jan

Thanks for your excellent review. I doubt there will be a part 2... writing this nearly fried my brain!

Very clever play on words throughout this piece. You have an agile and inventive mind. Can't imagine how you came up with all the dressmaking terms. Sewing's not my thing. I'm not a material girl (get it? nudge nudge)
Double-checked to see if this was a contest entry but no, just you enjoying yourself. Pun Fun!
Blessings, Julia

Yes, I was just enjoying myself here, having a play with words, but it nearly did my head in... I am not into sewing myself, so heaven alone knows why I felt the urge to write this!
Comment from JudyE
Who's a clever girl? Haha. This is so much fun. Did you count up the puns? There must be at least a couple of dozen. I'd love to reply in kind but I don't have the time! :)

I did start counting but lost track at upwards of 60! and to think I am not even into sewing. Thanks for your wonderful review, Judy.
-
60? Wow! No wonder I couldn't think of a single original sewing term to put in my review.
-
I stole them all!!
