This is really good, Yvette. I hear Van Morrison doing this and, of course, there is a guitar solo. ,+) Beautiful, romantic and soulful. I suppose this is your husband, the one you cannot walk away from. That good, I can't either.
All my best and in the contest. I hope I get to vote.

You already missed the contest, Lady Sal -- but that's okay cuz you're catching the rays for all of us (including some for me, I hope!!). But, oh-yeah, I could hear Van take a stab at this one...! ;) ;) Thanx for your review, ma'am .... so glad you enjoyed (and that you're havin' a good time with the Jax-man! :) ;) Yvette

I thought this was really s creative romance work. Good rhyme. Sensual and sexy message. Well written. No edits or adjustments necessary from me.

This was good. Great poem and the artwork is good as well. If I can get my Encore music programme working might have a go at a tune for ya. Might take some time yet though too many other projects on atm. Hope you check my autobiography, sorry no rewards. (Little Dog)

Oh, yeah, do I get the 'many other projects'!! :) ;) Since summer is the teacher's vacation, that means that summer is the only time I have to do any projects and there's also summer class planning for the coming year and catching up with the house stuff and this summer all three of my sons graduated at different levels so I'm busy with lots of follow-up....... yeah, 'vacation' is a vague term for me!! :) :) But I'm glad you popped in on this one sir -- thank you! :) Yvette

You were a groupie when you was a teenager, Yvette. :) I can tell by the music you pen so well. I couldn't get the rhythm until I started playing air guitar. This is a good entry for the Lyrical Poem contest.

Oh my goodness -- that is awesome!! You were playing guitar to my song!! Soooo, I am now your biggest fan, Jose!! ;) ;) Thanx so much for that wonderful smile and spectacular way to start my morning! ;) ;) Yvette :)

A bright, colourful setting describing your love with the guy. The chorus is pretty, don't enjoy the use of your references to "brow". It's like the whole song is centred around a brow?
The rest is well suited to the contest. Good luck.

Thanx so much for dropping in on this one, Jan -- much appreciated! ;) ;) Songs are always a fun one for me as I can 'hear' the music (and the voice!) in my head... take care! ;) ;) Yvette :)

As a songwriter I would normally just write "Chorus" after each verse, the chords and the words don't change, and it saves space on sheets. (Makes a difference if one is reading one sheet or three on a music stand. (Just a suggestion.) Yvette, but you've thought this out, if one changes even one syllable in a verse, it changes the notation in the verse. But well done dear Yvette. Most of the old hymns where written, to 8686 (Amazing grace) meter or 8888, although music can be more flexible than poetry. Well done, blessings, Roy

Yeah... didn't write the "Chorus" because of the subtle changes I put in each one... :) ;) Thanx so much for dropping in on this one, Roy -- much appreciated! ;) ;) Songs are always a fun one for me as I can 'hear' the music (and the voice!) in my head... take care! ;) ;) Yvette :)

A chorus is a chorus because of it's sameness, notation is repetitive, "we all drink Coke because it's so nice"

Hey! There's this show on TV called "Songland" (I think that's the name"--all about new song writers competing against one another to have their song chosen by a "star" to sing. You could enter this! I just jammed out my own melody in my own head and it worked very nicely! Rock on you!--Karenina

LOL! You know, I'll let you in on a secret (don't tell anybody): songwriting was my first love back when I was a teen! :) But, that certainly doesn't pay as much as Physics and I was way too smart to be a writer! (this my dad beat me over the head with...not physically, of course!! LOL!) But I'm glad you enjoyed it...I think it's why my brain tends to try to find the 'melody' to poems as I read or write them... :) ;) Thanx and take care out there, Lady Karenina!! ;) ;) Yvette

I agree physics likely pays much more money...but how great you get to sate your hunger to write poems and songs as well!--Karenina

Bravo! A true hit. It is such a very romantic song and very touching. You certainly lucked out if he's the man you married and you can tell him every day. Very enjoyable.

For what ever reason, I can envision and hear Dolly Parton singing this one. :) It's obvious that a lot of emotions went into this creation, universal thoughts and passions familiar to us all ... at one time of another. And here you said you were no poet. This, i think, is proof enough you might have been mistaken. Loren

You can make it whatever genre you like, sir -- and, yeah, I could hear Dolly but I would much rather hear George Strait, but that's just a personal preference... always loved that deep, smooth, seductive voice of his!! :) :) Thanx so much for dropping in on this one, Loren -- much appreciated! ;) ;) Songs are always a fun one for me as I can 'hear' the music (and the voice!) in my head... take care! ;) ;) Yvette :)
